It’s the day after Fathers Day here in Australia, so now I can share with you the card my kids gave to their Dad. I thought I’d best wait until today, so I didn’t spoil the surprise!
We made this using the new Ombre ink pads from Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalogue. They come in three colours and here we used Bermuda Bay. The other two colours are Rich Razzleberry and Calypso Coral.
Here we inked up the Watercolour wash background stamp. The thing to remember when using these style ink pads with big stamps like this, is not ink up the background in the usual way of tapping the ink pad all over the stamp. Doing that will mean you will loose the Ombre effect.
Instead, we sectioned off the stamp in two. First inking up one half, by tapping the ink pad across the stamp horizontally until all the ink blends together and you don’t have any lines from edges of the pad. Then rotate the stamp to do the same inking motion with the second half.
Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
