Sneak Peak – Urban District II

Here is another scrapbook page I created recently using the Urban District stamp sets and the Build It Framelit die set from the 2017 Occasions catalogue.

Rose Packer. Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Urban District, Scrapbooking

I had these lovely photos that I had to display. The one on left and middle were taken at the park on Fathers Day earlier this year. The one on the right, taken at the start of the year when Father and son completed a bike ride. We always try to get out and about with the kids and keep them active.

Using some Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper as the base, I built up the page with the heading using the Large Alphabet framelits. Then simply adorned the imagery with little stamped graphic elements from the Urban District Stamp set.

The “Number One” hexagon is a stamp but I created the “You’re the best” one with using one of the texture stamps in this set. I finished it off with layering the stamped sentiment by creating flag ends to the banner. The Built It Framelit set has this coordinating Hexagon framelit making punching these shapes out a breeze. I used Dimensionals to create some height for my elements.

I have topped off the hexagons with silver stars from the Metalic Shapes embellishments and a few sequins in Bermuda Bay to coordinate.

Until next time…. Stamp Creatively,
Rose

Urban District Sneak Peak

Some times a stamp set comes along and it just screams “scrapbook with me”! I’m not a huge scrapbooker – but I do like to create the odd page to celebrate moments I love.

The Urban District stamp set, coming in the 2017 Occasions catalogue is one of those sets. Here is a Scap page I created using this set. This one is all about my dad, of course.

I just love those exta large letters, here I stamped and fussy cut them out. Stuck them to some Dapper Denim cardstock and fussy cut those too to create a fine border.

But my absolute favourite in that set is the sentiment I stamped beneath the ribbon detail.

It just pulls at the heartstrings and is so apt for my family. My kids are lucky to have my dad in their lives, there is so much he can teach them and he has the patience to match! Even I have only scratched the surface with learning from him really – so that stamp just summed it up perfectly.

It’s his birthday in January, so I plan to make and frame one for him too.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
Rose.

Tiny Tree – CYCI #141

It’s a Sketch challenge over at Can You Case It? #141 this week. I really liked the layout too.

Can You Case It?

But of course I had to change it up a little, didn’t I! I rotated the sketch image by 90°. Here is my card.

Simple but cute. A strip of Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper down the left side and the sentiment across the bottom, topped off by the decorative tree image and some bling. Quick and easy too, which is quickly becoming my “go to” option as the silly season fast approaches! The sentiment is from the Banner for Christmas stamp set. The come as three separate stamps which I lined up on my clear acrylic block and coloured them using my Stampin’ Write Markers.

And don’t you just love that tree. I’ve been playing with my Merry Tags Framelit dies this week and one of them punches out this cute little tree, so that it appears in the negative. Here is what it looks like.

The tree is cut out leaving you a peak through that you can do all sorts of things with. Here I’ve popped some Silver Glimmer paper behind it, to create a sparkly tree.

This then leaves these cute little pieces of the tree you can use on other projects just like this. It is quickly becoming a favourite.

I look forward to seeing what you create with this sketch. For all the details on playing along with us this fortnight, visit the Can You Case It? website.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,

Urban District Sneak Peak – 2017 Ocassions Catalogue

Here I am, back with another Sneak Peak from the upcoming 2017 Ocassions Catalogue. This is another display sample I created using the Urban District stamp set. I just loved this set as soon as I saw it.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Urban District

Those huge letters are just amazing. In the set you get a D and an A, as the set it all about Dads. Also new is this awsesome looking Hexagon Dynamic embossing folder. It is seriously stunning. The impressions are really deep and crisp and looks A-Ma-Zing on the Silver Foil sheets.

The stamp set is great for Fathers Day cards, general guy birthday cards and it’s also great for memory keepers – either traditional scrapbook style or Project Lifers – this set has some awesome sayings for both.

This project is topped off with the equally amazing  Urban Underground embellishments. There are three different designs in the set, here I have used the star. They are made of metal and you really feel the weight of them when you unpack them. But they are held fast by super-strong glue dots already attached to the back. Making them super easy to use.

We have so much to look forward to with this upcoming catalogue, I can’t wait to show you some more over the next few weeks.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
Rose.

Nailed It Sneak Peak – 2017 Occasions catalogue

Okay… so, it’s time to spill the beans. You may have noticed, my blog posts have been a little fewer of late. This is because I’ve been busy working away in the background on a little project for Stampin’ Up!

I was lucky enough to be chosen as a Display Stamper for the OnStage Live Event in Brisbane, last week. This was a three day event, where Stampin’ Up! launched the upcoming 2017 Ocassions and Sale-a-Bration catalogues to demonstrators globally. I was pretty stoked to say the least.

I was given two stamps set, a framelit die set, an embossing folder and a packet of embellishments. I’m really looking forward to showing you what I have been creating. These will be sprinkled in upcoming blog posts, so be sure to stay tuned wont you?

I was so happy when I saw the theme of product given to me to play with – “Yay! Guy cards!” I shouted and did a happy dance. I’m surprised you didn’t hear me from whereever you are! LOL!

Introducing: Nail It stamp set and Build It framelit dies

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Nailed It

As soon as I saw these tools I was in heaven. I love how artistically authentic they look, so simple but so real. And of course, the stamps and framelits coordinate beautifully together.

Here I have created a corrugated iron background for them to sit on, which has rusted out and patched up – I’m sure we’ve all seen one of these in days gone by… I used a number of current texture style stamps set and Stampin’ Up!’s own Classic Water Colour inks only. This distressed look is all about technique – applying the right combination of colours using the right method and you can create anything with this distressed look.

I sometimes find social media can hamper my ideas, don’t you? I tend to limit myself on social media sites. So to be able to create and generate my own ideas using these new products was just the breath of fresh air I had been craving. Being able to play with new products before anyone else, was a relief as there was no ideas out there already. IT was GREAT! It was all up to me and my creativity.

I hope you are inspired and looking forward to more.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
Rose.

Beautiful Banners – CYCI#140

We’re back – the team at Can You Case It? #140 return to our regular Sunday time slots giving you loads of inspiration and challenging you to create.

Can You Case It? #140

This week, it’s a colour challenge – Yellow, Orange and Craft, which have a very Autumn feel to them.

It suits our Northern hemisphere right now, but one can be forgiven for thinking that it suits us here in Melbourne at the moment too.

Whilst we should be enjoying warmer sunnier days, after all we are in Spring with Summer fast approaching, but our Melbourne weather has been just as cold and wet as it was in the middle of winter 😦

Here is my card for this week.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Beautiful Banners

Whilst my mind has been focused on Christmas mostly, I needed a few Thank You cards too. So I pulled out my trusty scribbles and I have been dying to use my Beautiful Banners stamp set too.

You know I love my swooshy scribble thinlit die set – but I wanted to try something different by using the negative space. I have seen this done before so couldn’t wait to try it out myself. Here is how I did it:

First, I cut two different coloured pieces of cardstock to the same size. I used the coloured piece in the background and the Craft colour in the foreground.

Next, I punched out the scribbles in the usual way; line up where I wanted them, punch out with my Big Shot. But then, when I went to lift the cardstock from the die, I wanted to do this and keep them in one piece. So I gently bent my die back, exposing the edges of my cardstock, I used scissors and my thumb to help keep them altogether when pealing them out of the die.

I applied glue to the negative pieces of the pattern, gently turned over my piece and fitted it back into place and pressed to stick them down. Again with my trusty scissors, I lifted out the scribbly piece to use later on.

I made one in Yellow (Crushed Curry) and one in Orange (Pumpkin Pie).

I hope you enjoyed my inspiration around these colours. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the design teams inspiration from the Can You Case It? website and can’t wait to see what you create.

Until next… Stamp Creatively,
Rose.
