Colour INKspiration – CI04

colourinkspiration-banner

Another fortnight has flown by and here we are at the next colour challenge for the Colour INKspiration blog hop. Welcome to you all, I hope you are enjoying all the amazing projects the design team has for you.

The colours for this fortnight are gorgeous – we have Delightful Dijon, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White and Crushed Curry.

ci004-220217

These set is definitely not my normal comfort zone, I almost bowed out for this one … eek! But I pulled myself together, reminded myself “this is a challenge” and “you can’t just play with your favourites all the time”! I did look a little silly shaking my pointer at myself!

Crushed Curry is a favourite of mine, so I challenged myself to keep this colour to a minimum. Instead focussing on Eggplant and Dijon. This is what I came up with…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Detailed Doilies, Swirly Scribbles

Using one of the stamps from the Delicate Details stamp set, a Sale-a-bration exclusive, I created a border across the top and left edge in Elegant Eggplant ink. Being photopolymer stamps, made it really easy to line up the design so they connect. Yes my stamp is stained, but I did take my time and it worked a treat!

I layered another piece of Whisper White on top and decorated that with some Delightful Dijon mini striped ribbon. I overlayed the ribbon with a scribble of the swirly kind and some flags. The Designer Series Paper flag is from the Moroccan collection, one is Crushed Curry and my sentiment is on Whisper White.

A funny thing with the sentiment… I wanted a small hello, but I didn’t have one on it’s own… well one this small anyway. This one is from the Beautiful Banner stamp set and the whole stamp reads “Hello, baby”, so I grabbed my Eggplant marker and inked up just the little part I needed.

I finished it off with one of those gorgeous little wooden hearts from the new Sending Love embellishment pack from the Occasions catalogue. The size worked really well with the width of the ribbon and the middle gap of the swirly scribble.

Sale-a-bration Update

Three more gorgeous Sale-a-bration goodies are available from today.  We have two new stamps sets and THE most yummiest glimmer paper pack ever. Just take a look.

Sale-a-bration – 2nd release

So these new items are available the same way all other Sale-a-bration items are – for every $90 (AUD) on any current product purchase you can choose one SAB item for free. These additional items are only while stocks last.

This is the time I stock up on my crafting necessities I know I’ll use throughout the year – things like all the different types of adhesives I like to use, Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock to stamp on, envelopes to go with my cards and of course blingy bits!! You can earn a SAB item or two and you’ve stocked up on your basics.

Here is a little card I made with my class students this month where we used two of the new items.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses. Stampin' Up!, Detailed Dragonflies thinlits

Using the gorgeous little group of dragonflies from the Detailed Dragonfly thinlit dies set we punched out a set from the Sweet Sugarplum glimmer paper. They dressed up this card beautifully and we finished them off with a little bit more bling – a little rhinestone in the centre of each one.

The sentiment is from the Reverse Words stamp set. Here we inked up the Cheers stamp in Soft sky ink then using a sponge dauber we added some Bermuda Bay ink to the edges to create a circular ombre look. It’s a bit like the rock and roll technique. However with these stamps being an odd shape, applying the darker ink with a dauber allows you to apply it evenly around all the edges.

Want a close look at the new items? Download the flyer here.

Australian residents – Shop online here at my store and select your free item when you spend $90. Or you can contact me with your order and I’ll help you with it. As mentioned earlier these additional items are available while stocks last or until the end of Sale-a-bration, which is March 31st.

Colour Challenge – CYCI#147

So how did you like the Facebook entries for the Can You Case It? challenge last fortnight – so much easier to enter now isn’t it? We had a great response and hope this week will be even better with this next lot of amazing colours.

Here they are, a lovely selection from Kim of Red, Pink, Black and Silver.

cyci147_190217

I kind of feel, these colours are very Valentinesy. Given that we just celebrated the day last week. Here is my card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! So Detailed thinlits

I used the ever amazing So Detailed thinlit dies. I just love these intricate dies and the little tabs they have. It makes it so easy to wrap around cardstock, making it just that bit easier to fix them on securely to your project. But they are designed that way to make it super easy creating belly bands.

Here I have used the largest of the dies in that set on real red cardstock. I wrapped it around some Pink Pirouette and stuck them both to a Basic Black card base.

I created a little medallion using silver, red and black cardstock and those gorgeous Stitched Shapes Framelit dies. The sentiment “love” is from the Sunshine Wishes thinlit die set. I finished off with a couple of those gorgeous little Metallic Enamel shapes – I used two of the hearts in the centre of the flowers.

Happy belated Valentine’s Day

So I have a quick little share today. Yesterday was Valentine’s Day here in the land down under, but I couldn’t post this until today as I didn’t want to spoil the surprises. Yes – surprises – plural.

I organised a stamp session with my hubby and his mates, so that they could all make a card for their lovely wives. Valentine’s Day here in Australia is a little different from other parts of the world. It tends to be celebration more reserved for those with a significant other. Whereas other countries celebrate it with all their special loved ones. Interesting huh?

Anyway, here is the card they made.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Sunshine Wishes

It was a simple card, I didn’t want to overwhelm them for their first go. I helped with the die cutting using the heart from the Sunshine Wishes thinlit die set. Mind you a couple of them where quite fascinated with the dies and Big Shot – LOL!

We finished off with a little bow – which they were none too happy about tying – and a touch of stamping – which can I say, they all did perfectly!!

Now… I may have bribed them with some beers, and potentially forgotten to mention what they would be doing, when I invited them over, but I think you can see by most of their smiles, all turned out well.

colourinkspiration-banner

Here we are into the third Colour INKspiration challenge already – can you believe how quickly we are into the swing of these challenges! If you have joined me from the incredible Nikki, or if you are joining the hop here – welcome to you all.

This fortnight’s colours are just gorgeous…. take a look…

ci003-080217

They are Marina Mist, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Suede, Whisper White and Soft Sky.

I really like these colours, I create with them all the time. The Inspiration image is a beach theme and what I like to do at the beach is eat Ice Cream! Well… I like to eat ice cream all the time, but especially when at the beach. In Europe last year, I’m sure I ate Gelati and ice cream daily!

Here is my inspiration.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Cool Treats

Using the cool treats bundle I created lots of yummy snacks I wouldn’t mind devouring. Well… maybe not so much the blue ice cream… I tend to leave the Bubble-gum flavour for my 9yo!

What I really like about this set is all the cool pieces you get to create with. You can stamp and punch a range of yummy treats or you can punch them out with dies that create embossed textures too. Here on my card, the ice pole and waffle cone ice cream are stamped and punched. It’s a 2-step stamp set, which means it comes with all these cool pieces you can use to stamp over each other and create all those great little shadow effects effortlessly.

The die set also features dies that emboss at the same time as they cut. So my vanilla ice cream is created punch art style using different shaped ones from the set. But just look at that cone, the texture emboss gives it such an authentic look. I couldn’t forget my all time favourite chocolate sauce on top either!!

Here I have used some cone pieces to create a little bunting for some extra fun!

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Cool Treats

I’ll be back with a Sundae soon enough and don’t worry I won’t forget the cherry on top either! In the meantime, hop over to my stamping friend Rebecca for some more incredible inspiration.

Simple Balloon card

It’s been a little while since I’ve played along at a sketch challenge… or any challenge for that matter…. I need to do this more, they are so much fun. I like to play along with different ones to help get the creativity flowing.

Today, it’s about the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches – Love their simple clean elements, which helps me along as I can over do the layering at times.

fms-final-273-001

You might recognise this sketch, I used this to help inspire the creation for this fortnights Design team inspiration at Can You Case It? colour challenge.

cyci146_050217

Today it’s the reverse, I have used these colours to inspire this creation. Here is my card for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventure

I used three different colours of card stock in the layer format of the sketch then overlayed a balloon to create a fun little card. Whilst this card is clean and simple (love that!!) I wanted some detail to add interest but not take over.

First, I wanted some detail on my coloured panels in the background. After adhering them to my cardbase, I stamped them with VersaMark ink. This allowed me to match the pattern across all three pieces, but in a soft way. I also added a little bow and some bling to the bottom of my balloon, for a touch of detail.

Pretty Present – CYCI #146

The challenge colours this week over at Can You Case It? #146 are really cool. I wouldn’t have thought to put these together but don’t they look amazing together – Curry Yellow, Teal, Orange and Burgundy.

cyci146_050217

The colours I used for this challenge are Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler.

I kept it pretty simple this week, but the colours just make it pop, so I don’t think it needed over doing.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!

I used the gorgeous Stitched Shapes framelit dies for the base of my present. I just love the soft stitching detail these frame create. With a little Designer Series paper at the top and a plain strip of cardstock at the bottom, the present started coming together.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!

What is a present without a bow?! Here, I have punched out using the bow die from the Balloon Pop Up thinlit dies, and finished it off with a metal rimmed pearl for a little detail.

I can’t wait to see what you create with these colours. And now it’s even easier for you to join in. Can You Case It? has been in planning mode in between our fortnight challenges. We have been brainstorming ways to make it easier for you to join in on all the fun. Here is what we are trying out…
