Colour Challenge – CYCI#148

How much fun is it entering Can You Case It? challenges on Facebook now? So easy, isn’t it? You can link to your blog post if you have one, or just upload a photo directly into the comments of the Challenge post. We’ve had such a great response since the change over a month ago, so a big thank you for following and playing along with us.

A little more news – Can You Case It? will be back weekly starting this month with alternate Colour and Sketch challenges again. I’m so excited! I’ve really missed the Sketches, they are a favourite of mine. So I hope you’ll be playing along with those too.

 

Okay on to this weeks set of colours, we have – Gray, Yellow, Turquoise and White.

 

 

 

Here is the card I made… It’s a gate fold with a front panel.

I was really excited to see the diamond design paper in the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer series paper stack – perfect for this colour challenge.

I decorated the front with this paper on the base card panels. I used that gorgeous carousel from the Carousel Birthday stamp set, I just love those cupcake carriages! The Up & Away thinlit dies set has a little cloud like die that fits these cake toppers, making it so easy to stamp and punch colour coordinating carriage tops.

Here is how the fold looks from the top.

Inside, I wanted to neaten off the join where the front panel overlaps the base card front panel. This is how I achieved that – by sticking a coordinating piece of the diamond patterned DSP over the part sticking out. This made the join much smoother as they now sit at the same level. I added some more of the diamond patterned DSP down the right side of the white panel to match.

Oh and don’t you love how the sentiment on the front and inside work beautifully together? The styling just works too.
