This week at Case-ing The Catty, it’s all about the Birthday section. Welcome, if you have just joined me from Julia or starting here, you are in for some great inspiration.

I have been in Male card land lately, with male themes flowing through my classes this month and it works as Fathers Day is only weeks away here in Australia.

I drew inspiration from the Birthday section of the Annual Catalogue for this weeks case but changed it up to work as a Fathers Day card or even a birthday card for Dad.

This is where my inspiration came from… I just love this colour combination! Suits the bold drama that’s followed me this year!

Here is my inspiration.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Best Badge, Badges and Banners

I have been feeling guilty lately for not showing love to some of my awesome stamp sets sitting on the back of the shelf. So I have pulled out my Best Badge punch and the coordinating Badges and Banners stamp set. I used to these to make the feature… stamping the badge in Pumpkin Pie on Whisper White cardstock and the circle detail in Night of Navy on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.

From the Thoughtful Banners stamp set, I added “Dad” to the front beneath the circle. I punched this out using the Classic Label punch, then popped the end of my punched piece back in, lining up horizontally, so that I could punch flag ends in to the sides.

Beneath my badge element, I replaced the silver mini sequins with some of that cute Stitched Edge Ribbon in Pumpkin to coordinate. As I played with this ribbon, I kept thinking “if there was a red version available, I’m sure we could make Baseball cards with it”, it’s that kind of ribbon.

I kept the Lemon Lime Twist flags hanging down from the badge element. I also created the background the same too by stamping the fairy lights in Night of Navy on the Night of Navy Cardstock and layering that on the same colour cardbase.

So many great ideas await you in this blog hop, next up is Angela.
