Thank you for joining me and the Colour INKspiration team on this first hop for 2018. I’m sure you will enjoy this one… it’s a beauty, with great colour combination and great inspiration from the team to get your ideas flowing.

So to start us off this year, we have an awesome and striking combination put together by my wonderful stamping friend Tricia – it’s Night of Navy, Lemon Lime Twist and Whisper White.

Here is my card, using the gorgeous new Sale-a-bration stamp set – Beautiful Peacock.

I have added some silver foil to go with this colour combination, which I think add just the right amount of bling.

For this card, I pulled out my brand spanking new Stamparatus, I knew I wanted to make a few of these cards, using the Stamparatus made it so much easier and quicker to line up my main element.

Starting with my Peacock, stamped him and punched him with one of the squares from the Stitched Shapes framelit. I framed this square with some silver foil, to reveal a small silver frame.

I used this element to help position where I wanted those gorgeous leafy circles on the right side. I stamped two in place (free hand) with Night of Navy ink on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. Love these colours together. I wrapped some Silver ribbon around the Lime cardstock.

Once happy with these main elements, I began creating the card from the base up. Night of Navy cardstock for the base, a metallic foil doily in silver in the bottom right corner topped with the stamped Lemon Lime Twist cardstock piece. All adhere flat with Multipurpose liquid glue.

Next I used some dimensions to stick on my Peacock element and finished him off with some Rhinestone Jewels on his fanned feathers. I used a glue dot to adhere the tiny silver bow in the left corner.

I finished off the front of my card with a couple of tiny stamped flowers dotted around the main element. Plus a coordinated envelope stamped with my Stamparatus.

I decided not to include a sentiment on the front, thus allowing this card to be used for multiple occasions. Instead opting to decorate the inside and theme that for the purpose of the occasion. Here is the birthday one. Again, I used Mr Peacock and here, he is sitting on of the specialty metallic washi tape from the Myths and Magic suite.

The second card I made up, was a different theme. I have only just posted that so the receiver is yet to get it. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but I’m sure she will love it and get a laugh too! 😊

Next up in the hop, is the talented Nicole Wilson.

  1. I love the simplicity of the design of the card, but the bold colors make it striking, and the embellishments bringing it to the top! Fabulous!
