Hello for another fortnight challenge with the Colour INKspiration crew. Welcome if you have joined me from our Guest Designer, Cathy or if you are starting here with me. The crew have some really awesome and different ideas using this gorgeous set of colours…

CI28-280218

Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay,  Sweet Sugarplum and Lemon Lime Twist.

I started my card with the Perfect Days Memories and More card pack. I love that pack, well lets face it… I love them all really. This one is Black and White with Emerald Envy and Lemon Lime Twist (with touches of Soft Sky and Sahara Sand too) and coordinates with some design features with the Naturally Eclectic Suite.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Petal Garden Memories & More, Party Pandas,Celebrate You thinlits

Here I have used a card with a fun design of a speech bubble, which only uses the LLT of the greens. I decided on a Bermuda Bay cardbase with a layer of Basic Black cardstock behind the Memories and More card. I added in the sentiment on top in Sweet Sugarplum. I love how that colour pops of the page against the greens and black. I decided on a combination of stamp and die for the sentiment – the “hello” stamp is from the Eastern Beauty set and the die cut “you” is from the current Sale-a-bration exclusive die set, Celebrate You thinlits.

Before adhering these layers together, I thought the card base was looking a little plain for this. So I embossed it with the new Simple Striped Embossing folder. It made all the difference. Love the texture of simple stripes creates.

I finally cracked open my Party Pandas Stamp set. Very late onto that band wagon – I know. I decided on this one, holding the envelope. It matched the sentiment, I thought. I used Memento Tuxedo Black for the Panda and I added a “hi” from the set on the envelope.

I fussy cut my panda and decided sticking him on by himself, made him look a little lonely, so I add some decorative elements to help frame him. Punching out a Swirl from the Swirly Scribbles thinlit die set in Bermuda Bay cardstock. and winding some Black metallic thread did the trick.

I hope the recipient of this card enjoys it!

Next up in the hop is Jackie Aitken.

CTC167 – Sale-a-bration

CTC-BlogBanner

There are so many ideas in those two Sale-a-bration brochures, it’s no wonder the Caseing The Catty team are back here again with more inspiration for you.

Welcome if you are starting here with me or if you have hoped over from Rachel.

This week, I’m on the simple train… funny, but simple. I’m so in love with the cute Tutti Fruitti cards and envelope pack in the Sale-a-bration exclusive items selections this year, on page 14 of the SAB catalogue. They are just so fun, I think it’s the colours. But the fact that you get pre-printed, cut and score card bases with coordinating envelopes, ready to decorate, is just winner.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Birthday Witt, Sale-a-bration

I teamed these up with some other products in the Occasions catalogue today – some Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper and my funny favourite – Birthday Witt. At stamp club last month, we laughed about how funny it would be to team these two together. Today, I decided to try it out.

Keeping things simple, so that the fun would shine through, I created these…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Birthday Witt, Sale-a-bration

Taking the fun play on words about dieting, I added some yummy donuts and cookies to the mix.

So that the donuts would shine through, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink and cut them up into individual pieces. I adhered them on with some slight fun angles mostly flat but some with dimensionals for interest.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Birthday Witt, Sale-a-bration

I thought this would be a great way to add more fun add add a little more witt by highlighting an appropriate one that would match the recipient of the card. Here I used Lemon Lime Twist ink over the Memento Black to highlight the “Carb free”, this could go to a carb free diet person, just make sure they have a great sense of humour!

To finish off I added some Tutti Fruitti adhesive back sequins for a touch of colour.

Next up in the hop, is Megan Lenske.

CTC166 – Painted with Love

CTC-BlogBanner

It’s Caseing The Catty time of the week. Welcome if you are starting here with me or have hopped over from Sandra. There is so much great inspiration using this suite, it’s hard not to right? It’s just gorgeous. There are so many lovely products that make up the Painted With Love suite, there is a lot to play and create with.

CTC166

I took my inspiration from the cute little notecard at the bottom of page 18. So cute and so simple but lovely.

Occ18_p018

So if you read my last blog post, you’ll know I have a friend who is quite ill. During this time, many friends and family rally around to assist in anyway they can. The gratefulness one would feel would be overwhelming. So I decided to make her a gift to go with her card. I made a bunch of notecards she could use to give out and show her appreciation for the assistance she has received.

Using the Whisper White Narrow notecards in this suite, I created these…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Painted with Love

Using panels of the Painted with Love Specialty Designer paper, I used them as the background just like the sample. I also went with heart shape element, but here I have layered mine a little more. I used the Sweet and Sassy Framelits to layer and punch. Then a simple sentiment to finish off.

Coordinating these notecards by using the Ribbon of Courage stamp set, I stamped the larger heart, front one in Sweet Sugarplum ink and the back is Powder Pink ink. I punched these out using the coordinating framelit in the Support Ribbon framelits. I layered with Sweet Sugarplum and Calypso Coral cardstock, backed by a heart stamp from the Heart Happiness stamp set in Fresh Fig and Island Indigo. I topped off my heart element with a small ribbon punched from the Support Ribbon framelit set in Fresh Fig and Powder Pink. Finishing off by twirling some metallic thread at the back, I adhered these on to the note cards.

I added the sentiment and slid it under the heart element. Stamped my envelopes and they were done.

I hope she likes them and uses them too. Stay tuned for how I packaged them up to give to her.

Up next in the hop is Angela Meiritz-Reid.

Colour INKspiration – CI27

colourinkspiration-banner

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration challenge. We have a great set of colours again for this next challenge. Check them out….

CI27-140218

They are Powder Pink, Pool Party, Melon Mambo and Island Indigo. I’m not usually a pink girl, but boy I was excited about this combination.

Unfortunately for me, I needed one of these cards recently…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Ribbon of Courage

Yes… Ribbon of Courage stamp set usually means someone needs some support. I found out recently one of my school mum friends is travelling this path. These colours match her bright caring and positive personality so making a card for her was a natural fit.

I had to have this stamp set as soon as I saw it in the annual catalogue. It’s just one that you need in your collection even though you hope you don’t have to use it often. But when you do, they are the perfect stamps. There are some lovely stamps and dies in the coordinating set, but these are the ones I settled on for this card.

I started with the feature of my card, the ribbon. I embossed this with White powder onto Powder Pink cardstock. I coloured in different features of the design with Powder Pink and Melon Mambo markers. I punched it out using the coordinating framelit and set it aside while working on the rest of my card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Ribbon of Courage

I used Pool Party as my base and stamped one of the small hearts in Pool Party ink across the top. I stamped the larger heart in Powder Pink ink on Whisper White cardstock which I then layered with Melon Mambo cardstock. I adhered this to the cardbase with some snail adhesive.

Settling on a flag strip to layer beneath the ribbon feature, I trimmed that to size and cut flag ends using Triple Banner Punch – the width that worked with the ribbon didn’t fit into a channel, so I carefully laid it over the top, flipped the punch over and made sure the cardstock peeking through at the back was even before punching. I adhered this in place.

Using some Silver metallic thread, I wound some around in a circle and held it in place with some dimensionals.

Finishing off with some sentiments, I stamped “Courage” in Melon Mambo on some Pool Party cardstock, trimmed it to size and cut flag ends to echo the shape. Using Island Indigo ink, I stamped my main sentiment in the bottom right corner.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Ribbon of Courage

Looking at all the lovely stamps and sentiments in this set, I decided to add some decoration to the inside too. I stamped the solid ribbon in Pool Party ink on an angle and stamped another sentiment over the top in Island Indigo ink.

Finishing off with a coordinating envelope, a simple Powder Pink ribbon and Melon sentiment did the trick.

All that is left now, is to write it and drop in to my friend. Sometimes, I think this is the hard part but then with those gorgeous stamped sentiments, most of the work is done for me.

Next up in the hop is the ever amazing Lou Kitzelman.

CTC165 – Sale-a-bration

CTC-BlogBanner

Caseing The Catty is focussed back on Sale-A-Bration again this week. With so many lovely ideas in that little catalogue, I’m sure we’ll be back again soon. Welcome if you have just joined me from Rebecca’s blog or if you are starting here with me.

CTC165

Today, I have a quick little share with you and a great little tip. But first up my inspiration came from this project in the Sale-a-bration catalogue.

SAB18_p15a

Those panda’s a really cute but I went for a different set today. It’s one of my new favourites… Birthday Wit!

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Birthday Witt

Here I have teamed it up with Bubble and Fizz DSP pack, which is a Sale-a-bration exclusive. Love the colours in this pack of paper. I used two different patterns to create the flag ends. I didn’t want to cover up the pattens to much, so I left off the backing circle, which appears behind the panda. Instead I used the bubble speech stamp in the set which gives that same effect. I felt it needed a little more Calypso Coral to match in with the Sentiment, so I added another thinner flag across the top.

When deciding on the widths of my flags, one needed to be wider than the Triple Banner Punch’s widest one at 50mm. Normally I just reach for my paper snips and do these manually. However, I had this idea the minute I saw the Tailored Tag punch in the Occasions catalogue. I knew I would be using this punch for creating flag ends too.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Tailored Tag Punch

Sliding in my paper, cut to a width of 60mm, I aligned the sides to the width of the punch and pushed my paper in about half way through the face and punched. Wa-la… it worked, flag end to a wider size strip! I was pretty pleased.

Next up in the hop is the clever Peta Stephen.

Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit

I have another gorgeous little number using the Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit. Take a look…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit

I just love Silver on White, it’s clean and fresh and makes almost anything look simple and stunning.

I posted about all the wonderful elements that make up the kit in this post here. Today’s card uses some of the lovely silver foil printed vellum, washi tape and that gorgeous little paper tassel.

So I started off with a simple card base in Whisper White thick cardstock. I cut a narrow piece of regular Whisper White – 15mm x 105mm and used that as backing behind my die cut word. First I worked out where I wanted all the elements to sit before I pulled out any adhesive.

Once I was happy with the position of each element, I was able use the narrow strip to guide where I wanted my mini silver striped washi tape. Next I used some glue dots to adhere the printed vellum elements, and then on top of those, I used another glue dot to hold the tassel in place.

The die cut word Amazing is a Sale-A-Bration exclusive, it’s from the  Celebrate You thinlit set and is available FREE with each $180 purchase. It’s a set of three which includes the words Celebrate and You also. You can make many combinations of sentiments using just these three words alone. But when coupled with the coordinating Amazing You stamp set, sentiment combinations increase hugely. Plus I love how you can mix and match the different front styles to create lovely decorative elements too. The stamp set is available FREE with each $90 spend. Both of these are available until March 31st.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit

I adhered the word using some Fine Tip Glue pen. Once dry I positioned this in place without adhering so I could get a visual on where I needed to stamp the first part of my sentiment – the “You’re”. Next, I tied some Silver Baker’s Twine around the left edge and then adhere the sentiment onto the cardbase over the washi tape. I finished off the Twine by tying a bow which made it look like it was holding the tassel in place.

Last but not least is the bling…. I dotted 3 rhinestone jewels and 2 mini sequins I pulled off the roll of trim and adhered them in place with some more fine tip glue,

I was really happy with how this turned out. Like I said at the start, White and Silver makes almost anything look simple and stunning.
