CTC182 – Tea Room Suite

CTC-BlogBanner

It’s so exciting here at Casing The Catty as we begin looking at all the amazing ideas in the Annual Catalogue. Welcome if you are starting here with me, or if you have hopped over from Sandra, this week we are focussing on the Tea Room suite – pages 13 to 25 of the Annual Catalogue suite.

CTC182

My inspiration came from this card on the main suite page image, as pictured above in this weeks image.

I just loved both the balance of elements in the design and the colours. There are a number of elements I liked about this, the main one was the stitching detail around the Designer Paper. Whilst I don’t own a sewing machine to recreate this exactly, I was able to get the flavour of it with one of my dies.

I choose bold colours – well, that’s me isn’t it… bold…. Focusing on Blueberry Bushel and Lovely Lipstick, but then softened it off with some Soft Seafoam. Here take a look…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Stitched All Round, Stitched all round stamp set, Stitched label framelits

For my card today, I used the Stitched All Round bundle, which is a clear favourite right now! I just love the added texture the stitched detail gives. Here I replicated the stitching element in the catalogue sample, with one of the Stitched Edgelits that comes in the set.

First, I stamped my background and adhered the designer paper in place (this pattern is from Tranquil Textures), then layered the edgelit on my card and offset my top cutting plate so that the pattern would appear where I needed it. By doing this, I was able to make a frame around my designer paper.

Using another of the texture dies in framelit set and our new Embossing platform configuration, I was able to create more texture on the bottom half of the designer paper.

The top half featured the sentiment medallion. I just love this sentiment stamp that comes in the Stitched All Round stamp set –  as soon as I read this, one of my friends (who is in my team) jumped into my mind. She says this all the time and it’s just her! Love you Julie!! I had here in my mind while creating this.

Here I stamped it in Blueberry Bushel ink on Soft Seafoam cardstock, punched and layered with Layering Ovals framelits and some Blueberry Bushel cardstock. Using some dimenionals, I adhered this to a larger decorative stitched framelit from the set. This I punched from Lovely Lipstick cardstock to give it a colour burst. I tied some ribbon at the bottom in Lipstick to coordinate, which finished it off.

I love this layout, I’m pretty sure you’ll be seeing it again may times before this catalogue is done!

Next up is the lovely Simone Bartrum.
