colourinkspiration-banner

Colour INKspiration have a great colour combination for you this time. I’m so exciting to be hopping along and hope you enjoy my inspiration using these colours. Welcome, if you have hopped over from Bronwyn Eastley or if you are joining me here.

This challenge features Mint Macaron, Copper, Basic Black and Whisper White.

CI42-260918

I just loved this combination and tossed up a couple of options before deciding on this…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Foliage Frames framelits, Copper Shimmer, Embossing paste

I stared with some Shimmery White cardstock and water-coloured some Mint Macaron ink over the base with my aqua painter and allowed to dry.

For my copper, I decided to go in a different direction… here I have added some Copper Shimmer paint to some Shimmery White Embossing paste – you can never have too much bling right?! I added quite a few drops of paint to the paste to achieve the right intensity of colour. I love how the shimmery effect highlights the green fleck.

I went with a brick stencil as this card will be a house warming card for my sister. Which is funny, as it coordinates with the inspirational image for this challenge too!

To coordinate with this theme, I positioned the die cut flowers in a climbing arrangement. These are from the Foliage Frames framelits, here I have used four and overlapped them to make them appear as one.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Foliage Frames framelits, Copper Shimmer, Embossing paste

I finished off with a strip of the black organdy ribbon and punch circle shapes in Copper foil and mint Macaron. On top is my sentiment, a punched sentiment from the Sunshine Wishes stamp set. For some extra gloss and shine, I punched it from some Black Foil sheets, which are featured in the Halloween section of the Holiday Catalogue. I love little gems of accessories in there!

Next up in the hop is the amazing Jacque Williams.

Festive Farmhouse meets Christmas Traditions

Today, I’m playing along with Freshly Made Sketches [ #FMS355 ]. It’s been too long since playing along with a challenge group, and FMS’s were one of my favs. Here is the sketch:

FMS Final 355-001

I’m so in love with Festive Farmhouse Designer Paper pack, all those lovely Tartan style patterns remind me of my husbands’ Scottish heritage.

Today, I’ve teamed this one up with the Christmas Traditions punch box, featured on page 2 in the Holiday catalogue. This gorgeous little stamp set and punch bundle can be teamed up with many other sets to create amazing combinations or it can hold it’s own when used as the main feature. Just like I’ve done here.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Christmas Traditions punch box, Pretty Pines thinlits, Festive Farmhouse DSP

I started with one of the silver foil edge card base and envelope and layered it with some Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the yummy Designer paper. I wrapped the left edge with some of the metallic edge ribbon in silver to coordinate.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Christmas Traditions punch box, Pretty Pines thinlits, Festive Farmhouse DSP

To create a simple embellishment to finish the card, I punched 2 ferns from the Pretty Pines thinlit set, a circle of Silver Glimmer paper and finished off with colouring the stamp with Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Markers to alternate the colours.

A nice simple card and I really like how it turned out.

CTC197 – Joyous Noel

CTC-BlogBanner

This week’s hop with Caseing the Catty focusses on drawing inspiration from the Joyous Noel section of the catalogue, pages 28 to 35. Welcome if you have hopped over from Rebecca or if you are joining me here.

CTC197

My inspiration this week came from the green card at the bottom is this pic. I love the sketch as it was simple and clean.

2018_HOLIDAY_P30_B_500px

Here is how I used it.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Animal Outing, Stampin' Blends

I created a baby a card and christened my Animal Outing bundle! I had this one since the launch of the Annual in June but have only just used it now. It’s one of those ones you can have in your collection for just the perfect occasion. For me, it’s welcoming in a few little babies and these stamps are just perfect for that.

There are so many cute animals in this set, but today, I settled on the giraffe and the little frog, which I coloured using Stampin’ Blends.

I added a few decorative leafy elements – a die from the set and the leaf punch – layered nicely behind the largest of the circles in Stitched Shape framelit set.

RosePacker18-66b

These sit over some Designer Paper from the Tranquil Textures DSP pack on a cardbase in Soft Seafoam.

It came together pretty quickly once I studied my inspirational sketch, and I think it’s pretty cute.

Next up in the hop line up this week is Peta Stephen.

CTC196 – Santa’s Workshop

CTC-BlogBanner

Oh my… have you actually really really looked at the suite of products on offer in this section of the catalogue? It. Is. De.Vine…. sigh….  (insert dreamy eye emoji!)

CTC196

This is the section of the holiday catalogue the Caseing The Catty Crew are focussing on for this week’s hop. Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from the lovely Julia Quinn.

The thing about the products in this suite is, you have to feel them. The Designer Paper is flocked, meaning it has raised texture and the Memories and More cards have glitter adhered on, so they too have raised texture and sparkly to match! The other thing is the dies fit the little characters printed on the Designer paper, and some of the circle punches will punch out all the little extras – candy canes, snowflakes and lollies – so there is little wastage. Notice how they are printed in lines too – you can cut strips and not decapitate poor ol’ Santa… he does have a tough job as it is huh!

There is so much to love with all of these products, but this week, I went in a different direction. You know I love all the idea in the catalogue too, so this weeks card came from inspiration from the “Have yourself a Merry Christmas” card design on the right on page 23.

2018_HOLIDAY_P023_500px

This is what I came up with.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! All is Bright DSP, Making Christmas Bright, Swirly Snowflake thinlit, Pretty Pines thinlits

Very Vanilla and Gold are the main colours and I have teamed them up with a splash of Real Red. The card is square and I have included a strip of Gold Glimmer paper layered with some of that yummy bauble design paper from the All is Bright suite. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set and die cut with an oval from the Stitched Shapes framelits.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! All is Bright DSP, Making Christmas Bright, Swirly Snowflake thinlit, Pretty Pines thinlits

The back of the sentiment is adorned with die cut elements in Gold Glimmer paper and Foil from the Swirly Snowflakes and Pretty Pines thinlits sets. I love mixing up my existing collection of toys with my new ones!

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! All is Bright DSP, Making Christmas Bright, Swirly Snowflake thinlit, Pretty Pines thinlits

I was wishing I had purchased the Red Rhinestones from the Annual Catalogue, but I keep forgetting to order them, so to substitute, I used the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends and coloured some medium and small Pearls. This added the splash of colour I was looking for. To make the job of applying them soooo much easier, I used the new Take Your Pick tool – it has many options to help you along while crafting. Today, i used the palette knife to loosen the pearls off the backing of the packaging the come on, and the putty end to lift them and move them into place on my project. All those pearls, in place on my project in no time!

Next up in the hop is Fi Cobbin.

Colour INKspiration – CI41

colourinkspiration-banner

I’m back hopping with the Colour INKspiration Crew and this hop is all about the new Regals colour collection. Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Nikki Spencer.

CI41-120918

We have mixed up a few of our colour palettes this half year, allowing ourselves to be inspired by Stampin’ Up! new colour range. The three colours from the Regals range I have chosen to focus on are Blackberry Bliss (so happy to see this one back!!) and Old Olive and Crushed Curry.

Here is what I came up with.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Thank You thinlit, Petal Palette

I thought I’d show so love to a couple of my favourite stuff, waiting patiently on the shelf for me to get over my Holiday catalogue excitement – like that is going to happen soon huh?!

Starting with a Blackberry Bliss cardstock base, I have layered some Crushed Curry cardstock around some of that yummy new Festive Farmhouse Designer paper. This is new in the Holiday catalogue but has a great couple of woodgrain pieces which have become my favourites. Me thinks, I could use a whole pack of these two designs on their own!

First I stamped the DSP with the large leaf image from the Petal Palette stamp set with some Old Olive ink and adhered these three layers together. I die cut the thank you from some Blackberry Bliss cardstock and adhere this over the top. Finishing with a stamped flower from the same stamp set and colouring it with Crushed Curry Marker, I layered this on some Blackberry cardstock – punching both using Layering Circle framelits. Before adhering I applied a little snail adhesive and arranged some of that lovely polka-dot tulle ribbon to the back, so it framed the punched circle on three sides, then allow some extra length to flow from one edge to act like an underline of my sentiment.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Thank You thinlit, Petal Palette

I was having so much fun creating this, plus I needed a few more Thank You cards, I created some in a couple of different colours (ok so not all of these are form Regals! Sshhh – don’t tell Bronwyn, she’s up next!) and used Tropic Chic stamp set.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Thank You thinlit, Tropical Chic

Why not join in this challenge and show us what you create with this collection. Remember choose 3 colours from Regals and you can use the Basics collection (Black, White and Vanilla) to compliment.

Next up on the hop is the amazing Bronwyn Eastley.

CTC195 – Festive Farmhouse

CTC-BlogBanner

It’s another hop with the Caseing The Catty crew and this week it’s all about the Festive Farmhouse suite, pages 12–17. Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Peta.

This weeks inspiration has come from the Noel card on the bottom of the main suite page.

CTC195

Here is where the inspiration took me.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Making Christmas Bright, Festive Farmhouse

I used different layer combination on my card, but I think the result is nice and clean. Using the Festive Farmhouse Design paper (OMG… so in love with this pack!) I layered this over a Chery Cobbler card base.

The two green punched elements are Call Me Clover and are from Petal & more thinlit dies. I used one of those gorgeous pearlized doilies and some Champagne foil to layer.

The stamp set I used is the Making Christmas Bright, the circle I stamped on some vellum so that you can still see some of the detail beneath it, and the sentiment I stamped on Whisper White and both these elements were punched using Circle framelits.

RosePacker18-61b

I didn’t over embellish this one as I thought the layers do all the work here. Keeping the stamping clean and simple helped to balance these layers too.

Next up on the hop is Sandra Collett.

ESAD holiday Catalogue hop

ESAD-1

Welcome to the Holiday Blog Hop with the ESAD demonstrator group. There is more information about what ESAD is, if you are wondering about who we are, located at the bottom of this blog post. But right now, I’m really excited to show you what I’ve been up to with my new Holiday catalogue toys!

Welcome, if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Lauren Meiklejohn.

I have a cute a little card that doubles as a gift card holder to show you. I can’t take credit for the design, this came from another paper craft mob. I had a customer show me their project they completed recently at a craft fair and I took one look, flipped it over, turned it upside down and new how to create it. I just don’t know who the crafters were to credit them.

But I set about creating my own version and here it is.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Merry Christmas to All, Flourish Filigree, Gift card holder

Here I have used a number of new products from the Holiday catalogue as well as the Dashing Along Designer Series paper, which is a special promotion for hosts or customers with qualifying  workshop sales.

This first card uses the gorgeous Merry Christmas to All bundle, I’m just so in love with those thinlits, the flexibility they offer is great. I added some Champagne foil over the Designer paper, layered the Christmas die cut and stamped the Wishes to coordinate.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Merry Christmas to All, Flourish Filigree, Gift card holder

This is what the inside looks like. You could even use this pouch to hold some gift tags you may give as a gift.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Merry Christmas to All, Flourish Filigree, Gift card holder

Here I have added a simple mix of old and new products to create a little Christmas bouquet. It’s important to me, to make sure my new products play nicely with my existing ones, so I look the coordination between them. Here I have used the new Sprig punch and the carry over Pretty Pines thinlit dies.

I have stamped one of the sentiments from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set. There is room to write a message behind the gift card, which sits neatly in the pouch.

As I was creating this first card, I wondered what this design would look like when teamed up with some edgelits, so here is another one I created using the Delicate Lace Edgelits.

RosePacker18-62e

Again using another design in the Dashing Along paper pack and some more Champagne foil, I layered more of the Pretty Pines ferns in a tonal colour range – Garden Green and Soft Seafoam (is there another colour Soft Seafoam does not coordinate with?!)

The stamp is from the Flourish Filigree stamp set. I just love this set, it’s simple and can be used for many occasions. The inside featured more of that lovely paper and shapes from Stitched Labels Framelits and the Pretty Label punch, Circle framelits. The sentiment is new – it’s from the Dashing Deer stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed this inspiration and encourage to hop along with the rest of the team for more creativity. Next up is Monique Felder .

CTC194 – All is Bright

CTC-BlogBanner

Caseing the Catty this week, we are starting to look at the new Holiday catalogue which starts at in just a couple of days, September 5.

I’m so excited, there is a lot to like about that this Holiday catalogue and I know you will too when you are able to see it!

We are starting at the beginning of the catalogue, with the All is Bright suite, which contain some of my favourite products! I drew inspiration from a card design featured on page 10 of the catalogue.

CTC194

Here is my card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses. Stampin' Up! All is Bright Suite, Merry Christmas thinlits, Merry Christmas to all, Shimmer paint

New products used here include the Merry Christmas to All stamp set, Merry Christmas thinlit and the gorgeous All is Bright Designer Paper. I’m just so in love with the new thinlit dies, I can see a range of uses past Christmas with the Happy thinlit. Plus when you couple those with the sentiments from the Stamp set, the options are endless.

I really like the Designer paper too, it has a great mix of photography and Christmas patterns. Here I have used the design which has those gorgeous golden baubles, which goes lovely with the Crumb Cake cardstock. I have stamped the corners with a flourish from the stamp set and topped off with a few pearls.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses. Stampin' Up! All is Bright Suite, Merry Christmas thinlits, Merry Christmas to all, Shimmer paint

I have used Cherry Cobbler for that splash of colour to accent. The Merry is from the thinlit set and here I have added two more embellishments – the All is Bright paper clips which has the star and the tree design and I also added some sparkle with the Champagne Shimmer paint. I made a solution of paint and rubbing alcohol in a spritz bottle and spritzed my card to add a lovely sparkle across my card.

You are going to love this catalogue, stay tuned on September 5 for the catalogue available online.

Next up in the hop, is the lovely Rachel Palmieri
