Colour INKspiration – CI44

It’s Colour INKspiration blog hop time again, welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Jacqui Williams. This challenge runs for three weeks. So plenty of time to get your inky fingers into this great group of colours. Check them out…

Here is what I made using these colours. There is not too much that is quick or simple about this card, but I love how it looks that way.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper, Perennial Birthday, Happy Birthday Gorgeous

First up, I decided on what shaped frame to use in the centre. I went with oval and I used my favourite die set of course the Stitched Edge framelits. Next, I used some of that gorgeous Delightfully Detailed laser cut paper and trimmed out sections so that it fit between the oval frame and the edge of the card. It was a little tricky in places but I made it work as there are so many options with using this type of paper.

Next, I coloured the detail on the laser cut elements with a sponge dauber, varying the amount of ink applied allowed me to achieve different tones with using these colours. I used a blender pen for the Sahara Sand, as I found those elements to be smaller and the pen allowed for more precise application.

Once I was happy with my colour, I adhered the elements in place with some fine tip glue, making sure they didn’t poke out into the sentiment space. Then I adhered the frame over the top with some mini dimensionals.

As this card is mostly delicate and light, so I finished off with a little more strength of colour by adding a flower and some leaves stamping the ink on same colour cardstock.

Next up in the hop is Narelle Farrugia.

Once you have enjoyed all the amazing inspiration in this hop, pop over to our Facebook Challenge group and load up your creation using these colours. This challenge is open for three weeks this time, Monday, 12th November. Look forward to seeing you over on the group.

  1. Wow, this is amazing – the coloured detailed DSP looks ah-maz-ing. Gorgeous card, and I love the oval frame detail too.

  2. Love your colouring of the DSP Rose, I haven’t managed to achieve separation of colours when I have tried it. Beautiful result.
