CTC226 – Case a Layout

CTC-BlogBanner

And I’m back again today, hoping in my regular spot with the amazing Casing the Catty Crew. It’s been a few weeks since my last hop with this crew, life has just been too busy. But I’m so glad to have had some time to create. Plus… I love a great sketch….

CTC226

Welcome if you are joining me here, or if you have just hopped over from Lauren. Our catalogues are full of great sketches to case and today, I opted for this one on page 31 of the Occasions catalogue…

2019_OCC_P31A-500px

What grabbed me about his was the use of the flower thinlit die from the Springtime Impressions die set. It’s one I own and I love very much, but I haven’t used as much as I would like. So today…. I created this card….

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Vibrant Vases, Springtime Impressions

Same white cardbase and a layer of Designer paper – here I went with the pink hearts from the All My Love suite. Next is that lovely thinlit die layer in whisper white cardstock over the top.

I punched a rectangle from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits – they have quickly become my “go to” set!! The stamp set I opted for is the new Vibrant Vases stamp set from this Occasions catalogue. Which coordinates with the Vases builder punch available in the Annual catalogue! This being another Photopolyer set, makes it so easy to line stamps up, from the infill vase colouring to the tulip sitting on the stem!

I finished off the card with a sentiment stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink on some Flirty Flamingo cardstock, this sentiment is from the Petal Palette set. This is layered over some of the double-sided ribbon, here I have the Coastal Cabana side showing. I added a simple “Thanks” on the inside.

Next up in the hop is the amazing Sandra Collett.

Product List

So Long old favourites

57109765_10158325730414428_4678558642046238720_o

Today I’m hopping along with the ESAD demonstrator group as we celebrate retiring products from the 2018-2019 Annual and the 2019 Occasions catalogues.

There is more info about what ESAD is at the bottom of this post but briefly it’s community group for Australasian based Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Today, we are bringing you some last ideas using some of our favourite Stampin’ Up! products, so grab a cuppa and sit back to enjoy this hop.

Today, I’m focussing on a Bundle that I thought was incredibly clever in how it was created. It’s the Serene Garden stamp set and Serene Scene die set.

148395G

What I really like about this bundle is how each of the stamps work individually, but when intertwined with the dies, they create really interesting layers, texture and dimension to your project.

Here is my card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Serene Garden stamp set, Serene Scene thinlit dies

Being an outline stamped, it’s well suited to colouring. So here I have stamped in Mememto Black ink and coloured using Stampin’ Blends. Once I was happy with my base image colouring, I used the leaves die to punch out some of the leaves that scatter among the scene.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Serene Garden stamp set, Serene Scene thinlit dies

Next, I used the embossing die, which is exactly the same design and size at the stamp, to emboss a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock. I cut the cardstock larger than my stamped image layer, so that it made it easier to line up the images. After embossing, I used dimensionals to adhere my white coloured layer over the embossed Spruce cardstock layer, allowing shadows to form which creates depth. Matching the stamped image over the embossed one perfectly, I trimmed down the spruce cardstock to the size I wanted. I overlayed some flowers in contrasting colours for some extra pop.

RosePacker19-19c

I really didn’t want to add too many other elements to this card and run the risk of them taking away from the main image. So, I opted for a simple sentiment tucked behind the main image and layered over the cardbase, which I embossed with the embossing die, to echo the pattern and add texture without adding some new.

Next up in the hop is Siobhan Fitzsimmons.

CTC223 – Classic Garage

CTC-BlogBanner

Don’t you just love a really great Guy-themed suite of products?! This week, Casing The Catty are focussing on inspiration from the Classic Garage suite – pages 42 to 55 of the Occasions catalogue. Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Siobhan.

CTC223

I always get really excited about suites like these, I love creating for our men-folk but do find it a little more challenging. Which is not a bad thing. But sometimes, we need to create a card quickly and having suites of products on hand specifically designed for guys just makes it all the more easier and speedier.

My inspiration came from this card…. it’s the Green based one in the middle, in the main photo above.

Here is my card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin Up!, Classic Garage suite, Geared up Garage, Garage Gears thinlits

A little different from the original card, and a few more layers, but that happens some times doesn’t it?!

I went with dramatic colours of Real Red, Basic Black and Basic Gray. On a Basic Gray card base, I layered two different patterns from the coordinating Designer paper stack. Then I die cut the large collection of gears from some of that gorgeous Black foil sheets. I love how shiny they are! I layered that over the DSP and trimmed a piece of DSP with Basic Gray texture design print to layer across the top of the join.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin Up!, Classic Garage suite, Geared up Garage, Garage Gears thinlits

I added a simple stamp of the muscle car and die cut to match and sentiment in black ink at the bottom. To finished off, I added a couple of the Classic Garage Metal embellishments.

Quick and simple, but dramatic and very blokey!

Next up on the hop is the amazing Peta Stephen.
