Today I’m hopping along with the ESAD demonstrator group as we celebrate retiring products from the 2018-2019 Annual and the 2019 Occasions catalogues.
There is more info about what ESAD is at the bottom of this post but briefly it’s community group for Australasian based Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Today, we are bringing you some last ideas using some of our favourite Stampin’ Up! products, so grab a cuppa and sit back to enjoy this hop.
Today, I’m focussing on a Bundle that I thought was incredibly clever in how it was created. It’s the Serene Garden stamp set and Serene Scene die set.
What I really like about this bundle is how each of the stamps work individually, but when intertwined with the dies, they create really interesting layers, texture and dimension to your project.
Here is my card.
Being an outline stamped, it’s well suited to colouring. So here I have stamped in Mememto Black ink and coloured using Stampin’ Blends. Once I was happy with my base image colouring, I used the leaves die to punch out some of the leaves that scatter among the scene.
Next, I used the embossing die, which is exactly the same design and size at the stamp, to emboss a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock. I cut the cardstock larger than my stamped image layer, so that it made it easier to line up the images. After embossing, I used dimensionals to adhere my white coloured layer over the embossed Spruce cardstock layer, allowing shadows to form which creates depth. Matching the stamped image over the embossed one perfectly, I trimmed down the spruce cardstock to the size I wanted. I overlayed some flowers in contrasting colours for some extra pop.
I really didn’t want to add too many other elements to this card and run the risk of them taking away from the main image. So, I opted for a simple sentiment tucked behind the main image and layered over the cardbase, which I embossed with the embossing die, to echo the pattern and add texture without adding some new.
Next up in the hop is Siobhan Fitzsimmons.

The sentiment is the perfect size for the card – it doesn’t distract from the main image at all 🙂
