Paper Pumpkin: HUGS FROM SHELLI

Shelli Kit.jpg

Paper pumpkin is a full inclusive kit, that is available only in North American via subscription. However Stampin’ Up! wanted to share this very special kit with everyone.

This special one-off Paper Pumpkin kit will be available to purchase from today, Wednesday, May 15th and features all the supplies you need to make 12 note cards (3 each of 4 designs). Stamps, ink and adhesive are also included.

We have one sneak peak card to view and this shows us that it is vintage in style and uses similar design themes of the Bird Ballard suite, coming in the next Annual Catalogue this June. However the other three designs are a surprise, which is a common theme for Paper Pumpkin kits.

Whilst all crafters will enjoy the simplicity of this style of kit, this really is a great place for BEGINNER crafters to start their papercrafting journey. I also think these would make great presents too!

The only additional item needed is Clear Block D (item 118485) to go with your stamps.

The kit is $37 (delivery is additional) and available from today, while stocks last.

CTC228 – Favourite Retiring stamp set

CTC-BlogBanner

Favourite retiring stamp set….. Hmmm…. It was a hard one, I mean there were so many stamp sets I have, that I hadn’t finished with yet, it really was hard to pick a favourite. That’s the theme for this weeks Casing the Catty hop – favourite retiring stamp set. So sit back and take a look at the inspiration the crew has for you this week.

CTC228

I settled on the background stamp Marbled. It’s one I have had for a while but haven’t used in a while either. I think that’s why it’s retiring :(. But I love how you can use it for some many different occasions when themed up differently too – it could look like icing when teamed up with birthday cake type stamps.

I just let the stamp set itself inspire what I created today. Being a big background stamp, I went for something dramatic by stamping it in some black ink and teaming it up with Bermuda Bay and some Rose pink accessories. Keeping the stamped image as the only featured black colour, makes it really stand out.

After stamping, I added some splatters of the lovely Rose Gold shimmer paint – featured in this months special, Everything is Rosy product medley. I simply picked up paint with an empty Wink of Stella brush and used the lid to flick the tip thus splattering paint across my stamped image.

Once dry, set about finishing my card…. I added some mini striped ribbon before layering over some Bermuda Bay cardstock for the base.

I punched a doily and some leaves from the Rose Glimmer paper and larger leaves from Whisper White and Bermuda Bay cardstock. I layered them until I was happy with the arrangement. My sentiment is from the Detailed with Love stamp set, another retiring stamp set. I embellished the corners with the Trio Corner punch and some of those gorgeous Pink Gems, which I seriously have not used enough!

I love how it turned out.

Next up in the hop is our resident cat lady… Peta Stephen.

Colour INKspiration – CI55

colink-blogbanner-v3

Wow… just look at that inspiration image…

CI55

There is so much to like in this image, from that gorgeous bed head (I’m sure it’s the colour!), that cute “coconut” cushion that just make me what to jump on, or that gorgeous little bunny sitting quietly on the side table.  Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Denita.

For this challenge, we have the following challenge colours to play with – Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Grapefruit Grove, Rich Razzleberry and Smokey Slate. We can choose 3 or more to play with. So I went with Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo and Smokey Slate.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Just Because

Here I created a simple Mothers Day card for this weekend. Using the Just Because stamp set, I stamped my image in Memento Black and coloured it a little with Flirty Flamingo and Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blends. I used the Colour Lifter to push out some of the gray to lighten it. I fussy cut this image out so that I could make it a floating feature.

I layered this over some Whisper White cardstock which I cut at an angle. This sat over a coloured paper doily in Flirty Flamingo and these over the cardbase in Coastal Cabana, which I embossed with the Subtles Embossing folder.

I stamped a simple sentiment, this one is from Tea Together stamp set and the hearts from Nine Lives. I finished off with a couple of small rhinestones for a little bling.

Next up in the hop is Rachel Palmieri.

CTC227 – Favourite Retiring Bundle

CTC-BlogBanner

Okay, so I always find it really hard to choose favourites, I mean, really, isn’t everything a favourite one way or another. This week the Caseing The Catty crew are focussing on favourite bundles. So sit back and grab a cuppa for some last inspiration using these retiring favourites.

CTC227

For this challenge I decided to go with this bundle – Floral Frames. It’s made up of the Floral Frames stamp set and the Foliage Frame framelit dies. I’m really sad they are retiring, they were new additions to the current catalogue and I kind of feel like they haven’t had enough time to shine. I love the stamp designs, they are just so lovely, you can create a simple stunning card, But my favourite things is the way the stamps and dies overlap making it really easy  to create depths with layers. My inspiration came from the card featured on page 135 of the Annual catalogue.

Here is my card.

I love the die with the foliage that emerges from the side of the circle. It’s just so lovely and creates a great frame for a circle centre feature. Whether that be a sentiment or more imagery.

Here I decided to create window to peak through. With the sentiment stamped on the inside, a window brings to the front of the card too.

First, I stamped the large circle stamp with foliage on the card front in Tranquil tide. I coloured some of the leaves with my Lemon Lime Twist marker and then overlayed the die-cut, but offset the foliage so that you can still see many of the elements.

Using one of the layering circle framelits, I punched the window through the centre of the layers. This allowed me to stamp the sentiment through the window so that it aligns nicely in the centre.

Then I decorated the top with some stamped, punched and coloured flowers plus a couple of additional leaves punched from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and to the Lime leaves (it’s always hard to photograph!), which adds a lovely shimmer. To finish off, I scattered some pearls from the Share what You Love Artisan Pearls pack.

This design works for many occasions, I have even made a Mothers Day card.

Next up in the hop, is the amazing Elizabeth Gross.
