What an amazing colour combination the Colour INKspiration crew have in store for you this challenge hop. Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Julia, I know you will enjoy this hop.

Here is our inspirational image and colour combination is made up of many colours and we decided to focus on a minimum of three from this collection…

CI66

I was inspired by this image of flowers and decided to go with a stamp set I haven’t used a lot of lately – Vibrant Vases. This stamp set was kind of part II to the Vase Builder stamp set, that was new to the collection in the last Annual catalogue. It gave us more reason to play with the Vase punch, after we thought we may have used it enough… is there really such a thing in the crafting space… as enough!

The colours I focussed on are Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape, Lovely Lipstick and Mint Macaron. Here are my creations…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Varied Vases, Vase Builder Punch

I needed some little note cards this week, so here I have pulled out my Gallery Grunge stamp set, for a lovely textural background. I love the image of the parquetry style boards. Here I stamped it in Mint Macaron for a background effect. Then I set about creating my feature elements… the vases and flowers. I alternated colours to keep things interesting.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Varied Vases, Vase Builder Punch

The Vibrant Vases stamp set, is a two-step stamp set, meaning there are two part to the one image. You can just choose to use the outline stamp on it’s own and leave it as is or even colour it in other ways, like pencils. But for a quick and easy stamping fix using the filler stamp makes creating a breeze. Plus being a disINKtive style stamp set means you get a tonal range stamped with the ink, making your projects look like you’ve spent hours watercolouring them! In my creations, I did stamp off the background images, so that it stamped a lighter shade again.

I punched the vases and the tuplip stamped images using the punch, and fussy cut the larger flowers. I set my flowers on different types of Purple ribbons.

I love a simple design, it makes for interchanging colours and elements really easy for fast creations that a slightly different too.

Next up in the hop is the amazing Lou Kitzelman.

CTC251 – Brightly Gleaming Combination Case

CTC-BlogBanner

The Caseing The Catty Crew are back this week with a double combination case. So exciting!! Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Sandra. Grab a cuppa and enjoy this weeks inspiration.

The challenge this week is using the colour combination from the Brightly Gleaming Designer paper – Night of Navy, Pretty Peacock, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla and Copper. Plus we are casing layouts from page 30 in the Holiday catalogue.

CTC251

The two colours I focused on this week are Pretty Peacock and Copper and the card layout I chose was the one at the bottom of the image above.

The theme for my card is not Christmas though, I love how you can mix things up and draw inspiration from any of Stampin’ Up! catalogues to use for your purpose at hand.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Brightly Gleaming, Pretty Peacock, Well Written dies, Noble Peacock foil

Here I have used Pretty Peacock card base and embossed it with the subtles embossing folder. I layered some of the Noble Peacock Designer Foil in the same colour and wrapped the Scallop edge linen trim around and topped it with a bow.

I really didn’t want to cover the gorgeous patter in the foil up completely, so opted to use some Vellum instead. Here I die cut a shaped from the Stitched Label dies and used a little snail across the bottom to beneath the ribbon to adhere it. I used some strategically place glue dots to hold the ribbon in place.

I die cut a simple “Thanks” sentiment from Well Written dies from copper foil and adhere over the top of the vellum and finished off the card with a few of the Star Designer elements.

Next up in the hop is the amazing Monique Fielder.

CTC250 – Case a layout from page 46

CTC-BlogBanner

This weeks case is about the card design layouts on Page 46 of the Holiday Catalogue. The Casing The Catty crew have lots of inspiration for you using these few layouts. Welcome if you are joining me here, or have hopped over from Shannon.

CTC250.jpg

This week, I have focussed on the layout in the bottom left of the image. Here it features a Very Vanilla card base with Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake.

I have two cards for you this week… sadly I have had two people loose their much loved fur-babies this week. It’s bad enough when you have one of these events but to have two…

This first card, is for my parents. They lost their much loved Jack Russell, Zena, this week. Zena has been in our family for more than 15 years, joining us as pup. She lived to be more than 100 in dog years and lived a long happy and loving life with my parents. She was a little shadow for my Mum. following her around the house, nails clicking on the tiles behind Mum where ever she went.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Happy Tail, Dog Punch

I have featured the same colours, but rearranged them to use in different areas of the card, which gives the card a different look altogether. I have used the Happy Tails stamp set, and coordinating dog punch.

RosePacker19-37b

I layered some burlap ribbon beneath the Stitched Labels element which I stamped in Mint Macaron for some background interest. I featured the dog house stamp, fussy cut, beneath the sentiment layer and topped off with main dog stamp. I stamped him Soft Suede Ink and coloured him using Crumb Cake Blends.

The second card is for one of my class ladies. She is an older lady and this week lost her much loved and best friend Oscar. He was a white fluffy Maltese Terrior and always barked loudly on approached to her front door, announcing your arrival before reaching for the door bell! He was her much loved companion, so I know he’ll be terribly missed.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Happy Tail, Bella and Friends

For this card, I went a little different with the layout. Over a Gray Granite card base, I layered a piece of Gray Granite cardstock. First, I punched my Stitched Label shape and set that aside. I embossed the remaining piece with the Corrugated Embossing Folder and adhere this in place on my card base.

I looped the ribbon over the top of the embossed layer and adhered with Tear n Tape. I stamped the Label element in Gray Granite ink with elements from the Happy Tail stamp set. Adhering this over the top with Dimensionals.

I finished off the card with one of the best sentiments ever made for those who love fur-babies like children… this one is also from the Happy Tails stamp set and I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler ink. I framed the sentiment with some leaves from the Leaf Punch and Soft Seafoam cardstock.

Little Bella, is from the Bella and Friends stamp set, which has retired. But it was just perfect resemblance to Oscar, so I had to use it.

Next up in the hop is the clever Lauren Meiklejohn.

CTC249 – Toile Tidings

CTC-BlogBanner

This week at Caseing The Catty we are focussed on the Toile Tiding suite in the Holiday Catalogue – pages 8 to 11. Here we are drawing inspiration from anything featured in these pages.

CTC249.jpg

What sparks your creativity in these pages? For me it was this card in the middle here…

2019_HOL_P6B-9-500px

I love that a simple slice off the front face of the card creates a whole new look. Here I am back using the Most Wonderful Time product medley… it really is that good… and made the following card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Most Wonderful Time product medley

I love how slicing 1 inch off the front face allows you to peak inside the card. Here I have added a strip of DSP to the base which you can see from the front. On the front face, I have used one of the thick single-sided gold foil printed card fronts.

I just love the tinsel in the pack it works beautifully wrapped around the tree. Here I stamped the tree in Shaded Spruce ink onto some Soft Seafoam cardstock. I love how these colours work so well together. I wrapped the tinsel around it and used dimensionals to adhere it to a base circle element.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Most Wonderful Time product medley

I finished off the tree with the gold foil star at the top and the sentiment, is from Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set at the bottom. I adhered the circle tree element to the cardbase so it over hung the edge of the front face. I finished off with some Red Rhinestones scattered over some of the gold foil printed stars.

Simple but fun.

Next up in our hop this week is the amazing Sandra Collett.
