Case the Colours of the Kerchief Card Kit

It’s Caseing The Catty’s new challenge blog hop week. Welcome if you are joining me here, or if you have hopped over from Siobhan. This fortnight is a colour challenge – you can use any combination of colours from the Kerchief Card kit.

The Kerchief card kit is a free Sale-a-Bration item you can choose, when you spend $90 or more on regular products. The kit contains two card designs and features lots of colours to choose from. Today, I have focussed on the combination that makes up one of the card:

But you can use any of these colours that make up the kit in any combination: Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso, Gold, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, White.   You have two weeks to create and play too.

Here is my card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Classic Garage, Garage Gears dies

I went with a male theme card and use the Geared Up Garage stamp set and coordinating Garage Gears die set. Here I used a card base in Coastal Cabana and punched out several of the large gears dies in Coastal Cabana cardstock to over lay the base, to create a background. I’ve done this quite a few times recently, it’s really effective. Then kept the feature elements towards the bottom.

Here I have stamped the car image in Memento black and coloured it using Night of Navy Blends. After die cutting it out, I layered it over some Gold Foil. I die cut the shape using a label die from the Painted Labels die set. I twirled some Gold metallic thread and fluffed it before attaching to the back with some Snail adhesive. Then I popped some dimensionals on the back to hold it in place. I used some glue dots to hold the gear elements that I die cut from Night of Navy used to adorn the corners.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Classic Garage, Garage Gears dies

Before adhering the element to the cardbase, I coloured some of the Metallic gold edge/Vanilla ribbon with the dark Night of Navy Blend to match my card. This went on the card base first, followed by the car element.

To finish off I added some Navy Rhinestones from the Peacock pack and I’ve always wanted to do this… highlight this section of the large gears die… I’ve always thought it looked like a steering wheel!

Next up in the hop is the amazing Judy May.

After you’ve enjoyed the awesome hop with the team, I’m looking forward to seeing your CASE over in our challenge group. Be sure to load up your creation by 6pm, Sunday night, 1 March.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,

  1. Wow, what an awesome card!! I have always thought of the gears as grey or silver… and now I see what a very limited view that was! These look awesome! Love the background details, and the steering wheel too! What a great project!!

  2. Fabulous, Rose. You’ve inspired me to get this set out again for a play. I just love the tone on tone background with the gears. The pop of gold in the label is a great touch. What a fun card!! 🙂 Siobhan.
