There is so much to be inspired by within the Ornate Garden Suite and this week, for me, it’s all about the abundance of Daisy’s. Welcome to week 2 inspiration of the current Caseing The Catty Challenge.
One of the patterns in the designer series paper pack really stood out to me, I think it was the pop of white of the daisy’s in amongst the colour… it’s is this one…
I was also inspired by some white daisy’s in a bunch of flowers I got this week. My hubby came home with them last weekend, to help brighten up our isolation days. I know, pretty lucky, aren’t I?
Anyway… all week, I found myself looking at these flowers in the bunch and thinking about the white daisy’s in the patterned paper. Here is what I came up with
I just loved the white, so I challenged myself to keep with white theme. First I embossed some Whisper White cardstock with the subtles embossing folder, then punched my flowers out, using both sizes in the Daisy punch. I went with a touch of green in the centre – the retired colour Lemon Lime Twist (I know… it’s still a favourite isn’t it?) was just the perfect colour. I daubered some on to the centres before using glue dots to adhere them together.
I stamped the stamens from the centres of the large Daisy stamp from the Daisy Lane stamp set. This gave me the little pearl looking effect of the Daisy stamen in the photo. Punched out the one for the large daisies and fussy cut ones for the smaller daisies.
I arranged them over a piece of Whisper White cardstock, until I was happy with their placement. My glue dots helped to adhere them in place. Fluffing the petals helps to give dimension to the card. Adding a simple bow in Whisper White Crinkle seam binding ribbon – I left the tails dangle long this time for some added texture.
I finished off with a simple generic sentiment and when bold in colour as the sentiment is small. It just gave the tiny pop of colour I was looking for without taking over. I decided to layer this over Whisper White thick cardstock base, using dimensionals to adhere, this gave the appearance of another added colour, a light gray shadow, without actually added one.
Next up in the hop is the very creative Tina Gillespie.
After you’ve enjoyed the awesome hop with the team, I’m looking forward to seeing your CASE over in our challenge group. Be sure to load up your creation by 6pm next Sunday night, April 26th.
Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
