CTC305 – Sketch Case

Happy Valentines day! I really like how our American friends celebrate this one – they share love and care and hugs and joy with everyone around them. Whereas here in Australia, it tends to be more a couple thing, some couples celebrate and some don’t.  So where ever you are in the world Happy Valentines day!

The Caseing The Catty Crew are back this week with a Sketch challenge. This week we are drawing inspiration from the card layout from the Donkey holding the rose card, which is on page 5 of the Sale-a-Bration catalogue.

This is what the sketch looks like…

And here is where I went with my card….

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Sweet Strawberry, Berry Blessings

I went Strawberries from the Sweet Strawberry bundle and teamed it up with some of that yummy designer paper from the Berry Blessings Sale-a-Bration freebie.

I just love how one side is packed full of berry fruit artistry and the reverse is more generic, making them versatile for different occasions or contrasting effects.

But what I like most, is that DistINKtive style in which the stamps are created. They allow you to create a lovely watercoloured look effortlessly.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Sweet Strawberry, Berry Blessings

Here I stamped the vine stamp twice and coloured the leaves with a blender pen, leaving the flowers white. I stamped the strawberries and the green stems then punched them out using the coordinating punch, both available in the January Mini Catalogue. Using dimensionals I adhered the berries over the top of the vine stamp.

Next up in the hop is the lovely Monique Fielder.

After you’ve enjoyed the awesome hop with the team, I’m looking forward to seeing your CASE over in our challenge group. Be sure to load up your creation by 6pm next Sunday night, February 21st.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,

  1. Love love love your card!! ANd I would love to CASE you!! Gorgeous colours, love the strawberries and your leaf colouring is awesome. Love all the white space too.

  2. Good enough to eat! I love the way the black really pops with the red and white. I also really love how the stamping looks under the dimensional strawberries. Super sweet card and I am totally going to CASE your CASE! 🙂 Siobhan.
