CTC228 – Favourite Retiring stamp set

CTC-BlogBanner

Favourite retiring stamp set….. Hmmm…. It was a hard one, I mean there were so many stamp sets I have, that I hadn’t finished with yet, it really was hard to pick a favourite. That’s the theme for this weeks Casing the Catty hop – favourite retiring stamp set. So sit back and take a look at the inspiration the crew has for you this week.

CTC228

I settled on the background stamp Marbled. It’s one I have had for a while but haven’t used in a while either. I think that’s why it’s retiring :(. But I love how you can use it for some many different occasions when themed up differently too – it could look like icing when teamed up with birthday cake type stamps.

I just let the stamp set itself inspire what I created today. Being a big background stamp, I went for something dramatic by stamping it in some black ink and teaming it up with Bermuda Bay and some Rose pink accessories. Keeping the stamped image as the only featured black colour, makes it really stand out.

After stamping, I added some splatters of the lovely Rose Gold shimmer paint – featured in this months special, Everything is Rosy product medley. I simply picked up paint with an empty Wink of Stella brush and used the lid to flick the tip thus splattering paint across my stamped image.

Once dry, set about finishing my card…. I added some mini striped ribbon before layering over some Bermuda Bay cardstock for the base.

I punched a doily and some leaves from the Rose Glimmer paper and larger leaves from Whisper White and Bermuda Bay cardstock. I layered them until I was happy with the arrangement. My sentiment is from the Detailed with Love stamp set, another retiring stamp set. I embellished the corners with the Trio Corner punch and some of those gorgeous Pink Gems, which I seriously have not used enough!

I love how it turned out.

CTC227 – Favourite Retiring Bundle

CTC-BlogBanner

Okay, so I always find it really hard to choose favourites, I mean, really, isn’t everything a favourite one way or another. This week the Caseing The Catty crew are focussing on favourite bundles. So sit back and grab a cuppa for some last inspiration using these retiring favourites.

CTC227

For this challenge I decided to go with this bundle – Floral Frames. It’s made up of the Floral Frames stamp set and the Foliage Frame framelit dies. I’m really sad they are retiring, they were new additions to the current catalogue and I kind of feel like they haven’t had enough time to shine. I love the stamp designs, they are just so lovely, you can create a simple stunning card, But my favourite things is the way the stamps and dies overlap making it really easy  to create depths with layers. My inspiration came from the card featured on page 135 of the Annual catalogue.

Here is my card.

I love the die with the foliage that emerges from the side of the circle. It’s just so lovely and creates a great frame for a circle centre feature. Whether that be a sentiment or more imagery.

Here I decided to create window to peak through. With the sentiment stamped on the inside, a window brings to the front of the card too.

First, I stamped the large circle stamp with foliage on the card front in Tranquil tide. I coloured some of the leaves with my Lemon Lime Twist marker and then overlayed the die-cut, but offset the foliage so that you can still see many of the elements.

Using one of the layering circle framelits, I punched the window through the centre of the layers. This allowed me to stamp the sentiment through the window so that it aligns nicely in the centre.

Then I decorated the top with some stamped, punched and coloured flowers plus a couple of additional leaves punched from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and to the Lime leaves (it’s always hard to photograph!), which adds a lovely shimmer. To finish off, I scattered some pearls from the Share what You Love Artisan Pearls pack.

This design works for many occasions, I have even made a Mothers Day card.

CTC212 – Sale-a-bration

CTC-BlogBanner

Caseing The Catty team are hopping with more Sale-a-Bration ideas this week. Welcome if you are joining me from Rachel or if you are starting here with me.

ctc212

This week I took inspiration from this card on page 10 of the Sale-a-Bration catalogue.

2019_sab_p12_b-500px

In the catalogue, this picture is only tiny and you only see a small section of the card, but my inspiration came from liking the layout. I love the simplicity and how clean it is even with all the leaves detail on the side there. I didn’t have all those exact dies, but I love how you can substitute with what you have to create a similar look. Here is where my card finished up…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Forever Lovely stamp set, Stitched Label framelits

I went with a cardbase in Highland Heather, really loving the new shades of purple in the colour collections. On top, I layered some Designer Series Paper from the Subtles 6×6 pack, in Highland Heather to coordinate.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Forever Lovely stamp set, Stitched Label framelits, Foliage Framelits

My decorative elements are leaves from the Foliage Frames Framelits set in Tranquil Tide and Soft Seafoam cardstock. The sentiment is from the Forever Lovely stamp set, new in the Occasions catalogue, and is stamped in Tranquil Tide ink. I have punched it out using the largest of the dies from the Stitched Labels Framelits, and finished off with a little of the Whisper White Sheer Ribbon tied in a simple bow.

Next up in the hop, is the lovely Michelle Strazds.

Colour INKspiration – CI42

colourinkspiration-banner

Colour INKspiration have a great colour combination for you this time. I’m so exciting to be hopping along and hope you enjoy my inspiration using these colours. Welcome, if you have hopped over from Bronwyn Eastley or if you are joining me here.

This challenge features Mint Macaron, Copper, Basic Black and Whisper White.

CI42-260918

I just loved this combination and tossed up a couple of options before deciding on this…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Foliage Frames framelits, Copper Shimmer, Embossing paste

I stared with some Shimmery White cardstock and water-coloured some Mint Macaron ink over the base with my aqua painter and allowed to dry.

For my copper, I decided to go in a different direction… here I have added some Copper Shimmer paint to some Shimmery White Embossing paste – you can never have too much bling right?! I added quite a few drops of paint to the paste to achieve the right intensity of colour. I love how the shimmery effect highlights the green fleck.

I went with a brick stencil as this card will be a house warming card for my sister. Which is funny, as it coordinates with the inspirational image for this challenge too!

To coordinate with this theme, I positioned the die cut flowers in a climbing arrangement. These are from the Foliage Frames framelits, here I have used four and overlapped them to make them appear as one.

I finished off with a strip of the black organdy ribbon and punch circle shapes in Copper foil and mint Macaron. On top is my sentiment, a punched sentiment from the Sunshine Wishes stamp set. For some extra gloss and shine, I punched it from some Black Foil sheets, which are featured in the Halloween section of the Holiday Catalogue. I love little gems of accessories in there!

Next up in the hop is the amazing Jacque Williams.

CTC192 – Tranquil Textures

CTC-BlogBanner

I’m so excited to be back hopping with the amazing girls from Caseing The Catty. This week we are drawing inspiration from the Tranquil Textures suite and up to page 163.

CTC192

This week, I was inspired by this card design…

2018_AC_P157

I really like all the layers in the stamping in this card, this is where the texture is. Even though I didn’t use quite so many layers, I combined mine card with strength in colour, so I felt it didn’t need as many.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Floral Frames, Foliage frame framelits

Here I changed out the main element for the ever amazing Foliage Frames framelit set and the coordinate stamps, Floral Frames.

I opted to keep it neutral by using shades of the same hue and then add just a zing of colour. So used some Tranquil Textures Designer paper coordinated with some Granny Apple Green (which is fast becoming a favourite! I don’t even know when I started liking greens!!)

I did add some texture style stamping in the background using Timeless Textures and some Granny Apple Green and Soft Seafoam inks.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Floral Frames, Foliage frame framelits

My zing of colour is Lovely Lipstick. I’ve added a layer of cardstock beneath the white, which I have made appear so very thin. I have also stamped and punched some flowers in Lipstick which I have layered beneath the main sentiment element. I have tucked them in underneath so they are only just peaking out. Then I have used this on my sentiment also.

Next up on the hop is Sandra Collett.
