CTC148 – Kits and Memories & More

CTC-BlogBanner

Welcome to another week of Caseing The Catty. This week we are looking at inspiration from the many Kits or Memories & More range of products that feature in Stampin’ Up!’s catalogues. There are many different project ideas using these products and this hop is all about sharing some of those ideas.

I focussed on the Memories & More product range for this post. Traditionally these card packs are part of a memory keeping system to protect and display our most precious memories. It can be a simple thing or can be as create as you want it.

Here I used the Merry Memories Christmas card pack to help dress up some photos from Christmas last year. The cards are sized to fit the pocket in the variety pack of pocket pages. The coordination make this a quick and easy way to print and display photos.

The different types of cards included in the pack, make it really easy to jot down notes to remind you of all sorts of memories associated with them.

Or you can create lovely display pieces within you layout like using different card designs and printed acetate overlays.

These cards can also be used for many other projects. Here I have created two cards using the Colour Theory Memories & More card pack and other elements of the suite.

As the Colour Theory suite is about the changing seasons, this first card is a fancy fold to show Spring into Summer. The second is Autumn to Winter.

The “& more” in the title refers to the extras that come with the cards, like these stickers I have used on the front. Combined with stamps to make the sentiment for this card.

Please continue on this weeks hop with Angela Meiritz-Reid.

CTC147 – Christmas Around the World

CTC-BlogBanner2

Welcome if you are joining me here for my regular Sunday Blog hop with the Caseing The Catty crew. You may have just joined me from Rebecca Scurr, I hope you are enjoying the inspiration the crew has posted so far.

This week, we are focussing on the Christmas around the World suite on pages 28 & 29 of the Holiday. Can I just say, I really haven’t paid this suite the attention it deserves. I don’t own anything from this suite but in taking a good look at it for this Challenge, I have now added that bundle to the wishlist. That lamp post is just so clever, with the stamps design to hang like banners.

There is just the one main image of creations in this section, but gee there is heaps happening in every aspect of it. So much to look at and take in.

I decided to focus my attention on this card…

There is the DSP in the background and the sentiment is hanging like a banner off the silver washi tape.

Here is my creation…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Colour Theory Suite

I embossed some of the Crushed Curry DSP from the Colour Theory suite with the Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder as my background. I layered a card from the Colour Theory Memories and More pack in a similar position to the green cardstock in the catalogue.

I added the tree to the opposite of the card from the banner sentiment and added my own sentiment waving off the tree trunk. I added a few flowers to the tree and finished off with a bow made from the Jute twine.

Next up in the hop is Peta Stephen.

Colour Challenge – CYCI#163

I think the colour combination over at Can You Case It? [CYCI#163] provided by Kim are pretty patriot this week, given the American Independence Day is only a couple of days away. But being an Aussie – they do remind me a little bit of the Western Bulldogs colours! Check them out – Blue, Red, Silver and Black.

Here is my Design Team inspiration.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! You're Delightfully

Here I used a Whisper White thick cardstock base and layered it with some Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate. I love how these are silver one side and gold on the back. I used the Silver side with the scallop design.

I wrapped some black thick bakers twine around the red panel layer before adhering the Foil Acetate. The top layer is some more of that yummy Colour Theory Designer paper stack. Here I have used one of the crackled print designs in Dapper Denim.

I added a touch of silver foil to the side edges, then went on to dressing up with some stamping. I decided to use a Host exclusive set, You’re Delightful. It’s an outline style stamp, which I stamped in Basic Black archival ink. This allowed me to colour it in using watercolour ink. Here I used the brush end of my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker to colour with. Adding colour to the stamped image made a huge difference to the overall look when stamping over the pattern paper.

I finished off using one of the supporting sentiments, a few of the decorative elements too and stamping a coordinating envelope.

The sketch for this layout came from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I enjoy playing along with these challenges too.

If you are part of the Can You Case It? Facebook Challenge Group, you may have read that these challenges are finishing up on July 23rd. Which is sad, but good timing for me. I have been part of the team for the last year now, and have really enjoyed my time as part of this talented group, but change can be a good thing.

So we have a few more challenges to get through over the next few weeks, so I can’t wait to see what you create with these colours, this week. Pop over to the Facebook group and check out the Design teams inspiration. Load up your entry by Midday, Saturday 8th July.

What I used to make this:

Ombre Challenge – CYCI#156

This is an exciting challenge we have at Can You Case It? CYCI#156 this week. It’s all about ombre. There are a couple of ways you can participate in this challenge – you choose four different colours and create them in ombre style. Or you can do what I did choose one colour and step it out into shades to create the ombre style.

CYCI#156_070517

Here is my card. It’s a sneak peak too.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Color Theory Suite, Colorful Seasons, Seasonal Layers thinlit dies

When I saw this challenge come up, this new suite of products coming in the Annual Catalogue starting June, was THE perfect intro to it.

Welcome to Colour Theory suite. There are stamps, dies and embellishments that make up this collection of products but the yummiest part is the Ombre paper. There are three designs and comes in four different colours. One of those colours is a new In Colour – Berry Burst.

There is the blended gradient – where all the colours blend seamlessly, the blocked gradient – where there is a distinct block of colour and the paint swatch – where the blocks of colours are separated by white space. Love, Love, Love them!

Here I have used the paper that looks like a paint swatch. It’s so cool don’t you think? I have used the Colourful Seasons stamp set and coordinating Seasonal Layers thinlit dies. I have used the generational stamping technique, when stamping some of the blossoms, to help create more of the ombre effect.

This is going to be one cool set and I’ll bring you more of that soon, I’m sure.

Until then, I can’t wait to see what you create with this Ombre challenge. Head over to our Facebook Challenge group and draw inspiration from our talented Design Team members. Then add your entry to the comments of the Ombre challenge post. This challenge ends midday, Saturday, 13th (AEST).
