Caseing The Catty – Gift packaging

Sadly, I didn’t have my blog post ready to join in the hop with the amazing Caseing The Catty Crew last Sunday night, but I really wanted to share my project and join in with the challenge.

So here they are.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Year of Cheer, Window Box

I’ve made some Christmas gift boxes using the Window Box framelit dies (which are on sale until Sunday in this week’s Online Extravaganza sale – check them out here) and some of my favourite Christmas supplies the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer paper and those amazing Foil Snowflakes.

Here I have punched out two of the Window box shapes from the Designer Paper. Assembly was really easy following Stampin’ Up! instructions in their YouTube video.

This paper with the foil print, is just so amazing on its own, it really doesn’t take much to dress it up. Here, I have kept it simple, by adding one of those amazing Foil Snowflakes on two of the designs. A simple label sentiment from the Merry Little Labels Stamp set punched with the coordinating Everyday Label punch is all that is featured here. A splash of colour is used with the Real Red 1/8” ribbon in a zig zag pattern beneath it.

The third one is the Copper foil designed paper and here I have teamed this up with some black cardstock with flag ends cut in and embossed the sentiment with white powder. Finishing this off with some lovely fluff of Black Metallic Thread.

I finished off all the boxes with touches of bling – either Pearls or Rhinestones.

The Caseing The Catty team will be back Sunday night with the next hop.

Looking forward to getting back in to blogging more regularly, the last month has been a little busy to say the least. Planning some great projects to finishing the year off with my regular design team spots too.

CTC149 – Year of Cheer Suite

The focus for this week at Caseing The Catty is the Year of Cheer suite. I have to say… I am so in love with this suite. I never thought this much bling would go together so well!

If you are like me…. In love with this suite…. then you are in for an exciting hop tonight with our Caseing The Catty crew. Welcome if you are just joining me here or if you have hopped over from Jackie Noble.

So another funny story surrounds this card design this week. I actually created this a couple of weeks ago. I was creating for our Around The World Suite inspiration hop, as I didn’t have products from that suite, I was creating with what I did have using inspiration from that page. I was nearly done when the though struck me, we’ll be focussing on Year of Cheer in such a short time!

So my inspiration on this occasion has come from another section, but using all the yummy products that make up this gorgeous suite. Here is what I created:

Rose Packer, Creative Roses. Stampin' Up! Year of Cheer suite

Here I have added black to all this bling. I just think it matches the elegance of this suite. Starting with a Basic Black card base, I embossed a layer of the Champagne foil sheet with the Winter Wonder embossing folder.

I used a small piece of the Special Designer Series paper and adhered that with Tear & Tape. Over the top of the is a simple punched shape from Basic Black cardstock using the Everyday Label punch. I layered that with another punch from Whisper White cardstock – here I trimmed the sides down so that the punched shapes layered nicely together. (This punch is great for altered shapes!)

I stamped the sentiment and adhered it to card with dimensionals.

Next I threaded some silver 1/8” ribbon through the Year of Cheer embellishment and tied it off in a bow. I used a Glue Dot to hold this in place.

Last, I finished off with stamping a coordinating envelope with the two snowflake stamps in that set.

I hope you enjoyed my inspiration using products from this suite. For more inspiration keep on hopping through the teams blogs, I’m sure you’ll find a few ideas to help with projects you have coming up.

Next up is Elizabeth Gross.

Once you’ve hopped through and taken in all our inspiration, I’d really love to see what you create with these amazing product or see how this section of the catalogue inspires your creation. Head over to our Facebook Challenge Group and load up your creation by 6pm next Sunday 15 October.

Quilted Christmas pizza box

I am just so in love with the Quilted Christmas suite at the moment. I’ve been using it quite a bit. I think the Paper Stack in that suite is just so cool but I think photos in the catalogue just doesn’t quite do it justice.

I hope this great little project we made in class earlier this month will give you a better look at it and what you can do with this suite.

We decorated a Mini Pizza box and inside we made 3 note cards with coordinating mini envelopes.

The pizza boxes are just so cute, they come pre-cut and scored and flat packed in packs of 8. They also have a food-safe lining on the inside, making it great for gifts of cookies or shortbread this Christmas season.

Here we have decorated the top with a quarter of one of the patterns from the Paper stack which we matted on some Real Red cardstock. Looped with some Quilted Christmas ¼” Ribbon and a simple sentiment.

The 3 note cards we made using many of the elements from the suite, topped up with sentiments from other sets. I love how you can use the dies within the set many ways, you can either punch them into a piece of cardstock, creating a window effect or, like we have done here, used the coordinating framelit to punch out the element. There are three different elements that work like this in the set.

Both these sentiments are from the Labels to Love stamp set.

This next note card is just so cute… here we have created a tree from the elements. This is created using two different stamps in the set, stamped in two different colours. Being a Photopolymer stamp set, makes this so easy to achieve. Layered over a sentiment strip and some more of that gorgeous paper stack, this card is then topped off with some Real Red 1/8” Solid Ribbon tied in a bow.

Last, but not least in this set, is this gorgeous little flower. This is stamped and punched with the coordinating framelit, then layered over a flower which is created from framelits from this coordinating set. It’s just so easy to create lovely projects with such cleverly designed tools. Don’t you just love the Real Red teamed up with some Lemon Lime Twist – just gorgeous. This card is finished off with one of those gorgeous Facetted Gems.

All three cards have coordinating envelopes, which come ready made in packs of 40 in the Holiday catalogue. Whilst they are mini size, they are just large enough to hold a 3” x 3” note card like these. Made from Whisper White cardstock means they stamp up beautifully.
