The story of the catch up

So last night was my first blog post back (Yay!!) after my amazing incentive trip last month. My blogging break was a little longer than expected as I had a bad case of Vertigo upon arrival back in Australia. It kind of knock me out for a couple of days, then a slow road back to the land of no-spinning and steady feet! Thankfully, I’m almost all good now and my mojo is coming back too!

So I thought I’d do a quick wrap up of projects from the last little while to catch up.

First up – I thought I’d share a sneak peak. But this is a sneak peak of a different kind. You’ve seen these products before, so nothing new there. But this project will feature in another post I am currently writing about my Incentive trip experience. That post is coming soon, but I thought I’d share the swap I made for the trip, which went to 25 demonstrators around the world.

Next, upon returning home, my pre-order for this months exclusive bundle, Blended Seasons, was waiting for me. While it had to wait longer than expected before I could use it, this is one of the cards I have made.  This is an exclusive limited time bundle (only available during August 2018) as well as those gorgeous set of new shades in Watercolour pencils. View the products here. Here I have coloured the background of my Whisper White cardstock in Balmy Blue pencil, so that my flowers stayed white.

This card does feature a sneak peak – it’s the new Corrugated embossing folder coming in the Holiday Catalogue next month!!

Shortly after arriving home, I enjoyed one of the perks of being a demonstrator – Pre order of new catalogue products!! I just love that we get to see, order and play with new products first!

In the Holiday catalogue starting next month, is a new favourite. At least, I know these are going to be a favourite, as they are just an awesome product. It’s the new Foiled Edge cards and envelopes! Hellooo…. instant bling!! They come in packs of 20 in both gold and silver. Here, I have teamed up the gold ones with some of the gorgeous Broadway Bound suite of products.

With a trip like we have just enjoyed, I have a list as tall as me of all the Memories & More album making and Scrapping to do!! Here is one page I made recently of my gorgeous princess on her “Princess for a Day” experience that she enjoyed at Disneyland. I just love how you can make embellishments from Stampin’ Up!’s stamps and dies, to adorn pages, without adding to much bulk and fuss.

There is more to this Disney story too and a page 2, so stay tuned!

So this brings us to last week. I’m busy preparing for a papercraft expo for this weekend. One of the displays I have made showcases how you can use Stampin’ Up! papercraft products to make just about anything your mind imagines. I found this cute frame in a store, I liked the shape but frame on the inside was quite plain. Perfect!!

So I covered the photo matte and the sides with some new woodgrain design pattern paper coming in the Holiday catalogue – Festive Farmhouse. Oh my lordy, I’ll be buying more of this gorgeous pack. Because it is sized at 12×12, it was easy to cover the backing matte in one piece too.

I added a different pattern for the floor from our regular Woodgrain Textures 6×6 pack and some Whisper White for the ceiling. I finished off the frame with a few simple embellishments: the bell is from this months Blended Seasons bundle and is coloured with the new Real Red Stampin’ Blends. I also used Blends to colour some of the larger Rhinestones, and grouped them together so they look like berries in the Boxwood wreath, which I have unravelled and arranged like a garland.

The star at the top is a new paper clip embellishment coming in the Holiday catalogue too, along with that gorgeous die cut “Christmas”. You’ll be seeing a lot more of that set, I can tell you now.

Last but not least a simple box of treats. Here I have dressed up a clear mini treat box with some Designer paper and a few various trims. A simple idea like this and few minutes of your time, turns a pack of lollies into a little gift with some care and thought. When you want to say a simple “thank you”, this is a great way to express your appreciation. It says just as much about you as it does the person you are thanking.

So this brings us up to today, where I have a few more thank yous to create and many more Christmas ideas flowing into my imagination. So stay tuned for more on some of these projects here and all the new ones I’ll be bringing you soon.

CTC184 – Delightfully Detailed

It’s Caseing The Catty time and I’m so excited. Today, we are focussing on the Delightfully Detailed Suite – it’s one of my favourites. Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Elizabeth.

I’m just so in love with this suite, it’s has so many different elements to work with and all coordinate so beautifully. It’s hard to go past that Laser Cut Specialty Designer paper pack though, isn’t it?

It’s dresses up the simplest of cards in such an awesome and stunning way, it doesn’t take much to make them work beautifully. This means quick and simple but stunning cards – just my cup of tea at the minute.

I have a couple of quick cards, I made recently showcasing some of this paper. This first one uses some of the lovely designs that make up the 12×12” piece.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Delightfully Detailed Laser cut paper, Detailed with Love

Here I have layered it up with some Bermuda Bay cardstock directly beneath the laser paper and then adhered to a cardbase in Coastal Cabana. The sentiment is from the Detailed with Love Stamp set from this suite and I used an oval die from Stitched Shapes framelits to punch it out. I love how it looks a bit like a decorative mirror. This has given me an idea!

The next card uses some of the laser cut borders that come in the pack too. Here I have used two different ones. On the card base, I have used one of the thin half loop edges, which I have coloured directly with my Night of Navy ink pad. I cut two strips and adhered it with some multipurpose liquid glue so that the straight edge aligned.

Next, I used the wider banner style strip and adhere to some Night of Navy cardstock, cut a flag to one end. I love the contrast of White and Navy.

I used the banner element as a guide to stamp my flowers in Grapefruit Grove. I wanted a subtle stamp effect, so used the small outline flower stamp from Oh So Eclectic. I overlayed my sentiment and finished off the card with a few simple pearls from the Share What You Love pack.

Colour INKspiration – CI34

Welcome to another awesome blog hop with the Colour INKspiration crew – whether you’re starting here or hopped over from Julia, you’re in for a treat.

So the colour we are playing with for the next three weeks are:

Pool Party, Basic Gray, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight.

As I was playing around with my supplies, I realised we had those colours in our Stampin’ Blends range, so the choice to play with some new products became an easy one.

This is my first play with some of the Graceful Glace suite coming in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue on June 1st.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Graceful Glass, Painted Glass, Stained Glass thinlits

Here I have used Stampin’ Blends (Stampin’ Up!’s alcohol marker collection) in Pool Party, Daffodil and Calypso to colour some printed vellum. This pack comes in 6×6” size and has a huge 12 different designs to choose from.

Using a 3×3” square from one design and then colouring it, not only creates stunning effects, it’s quite therapeutic! I like this design as it reminds me of some of the stained glass windows you would see in architecture scattered all over Europe, just like those building in the inspiration image.

What I really like about alcohol markers is that if you happen to “accidently” colour outside the lines, it’s easy to fix. Just use the colour that is meant to be in that space and colour over it. If it’s a darker colour than the marker you are using, you can easily clean off the transfer of colour by scribbling on some scrap paper.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Graceful Glass, Painted Glass, Stained Glass thinlits

I layered my card with some Whisper White and Basic Gray cardstock then created a frame in Gray to hold the coloured vellum. I finished the card with a simple sentiment in the coordinating Painted Glass stamp set and a butterfly stamped in Calypso Coral and punched with the coordinating framelit.

Simple but stylish, which these designs need given they can be quite busy.

Next up in the hop is the amazing Jackie Aitken.

Once you have enjoyed all the amazing inspiration in this hop, pop over to our Facebook Challenge group and load up your creation using these colours. This challenge is open for three weeks and closes June 11th. Look forward to seeing you over on the group.
