It’s blog hop time with the Caseing The Catty team. Welcome if you have joined me here or you may have hopped over from Megan.
This week we are focussing on one of the larger sections of the catalogue – Artistic Expression.
The stamp sets featured in this section can be applied to any number of occasions. The stamp designs also have a different artistic styles to them, making the appealing to many different tastes and giving a varied look to the artwork you can create.
It is a quite a large section, a little hard to decide what to do – I had to remind myself the team will mostly visit this section again, I’m sure! So I drew inspiration from the card on the left on page 136 of the catalogue.
I loved this card design as soon as I saw it. I also loved the colour combination too – Black and Lemon Lime Twist – hello bold and dramatic! Today, however, I’m using a host exclusive stamp set – You’re Delightful.
I love this set and used it recently too. It has two main statement stamps, one which is an outline style and the other is a solid style, giving two very different looks. Then there are number of supporting sentiment and graphic stamps too, which you can have loads of fun with. The sentiments and graphic elements have that texty design to them, so they coordinate well with the Text You Later stamp set too.
Here I have created two card using both styles to show you how different they can look. First up is the solid stamp with a supporting “thank you” and some smiley emoji’s.
The second one uses the outline style and here I’ve made a birthday card with the sentiment and birthday cake emoji to support it.
The use of washi tape adds a great effect. What I really like about the washi tape is that they are transparent, so when you apply it over a stamped image, it is still visible.
This design is really easy to recreate, I did this project with my stamp club girls recently and they really enjoyed making it. I love how quick and simple it is but still has great visual impact.
Next up in the hop line up is Angela Meiritz-Reid who has been playing with some embossing paste. Hop on over there and check out her creation.
When you are finished hopping through, get busy creating and head on over the Facebook Challenge group to load up your CASE. We’d love to see how this section of the Annual Catalogue inspires you.
Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
