Colour INKspiration – CI49

Welcome to the first Colour INKspiration blog hop for 2019. We have several new crew members joining us this year too. To kick things off we have an awesome colour combination…

Don’t you just love beach houses? I love this image and funnily enough, this colour combination was very similar to my last blog hop with Caseing The Catty on last Sunday night, so needless to say, it was very happy to be using these colours again!

I’ve decided to give you a sneak peak… this project uses one of the new Sale-a-Bration launching this week. It’s the All Adorned stamp set and features a number of images and sentiments.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Stamparatus, All Adorned, Butterfly Gala

I think these stamps work really well using the Stamparatus. I think we’ll be seeing quite a lot of fun stamping done with these image stamps. For this card, first I trimmed down a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 100mm square. I lined my Stamparatus with a piece of the small grid paper, I love how the all grid lines line up together – on the paper and on the plates – makes positioning really easy.

I lined up the Whisper White on the grid paper and then positioned my stamp on the corresponding grid on the stamparatus plate, inked up my stamp and stamped it. Rotating my whisper white cardstock four times, and each time, lining it up with the same grid lines, allowed me to stamp in the corners, creating this gorgeous frame.

Layering this piece on some Coastal Cabana cardstock, these went onto Highland Heather cardbase. I cut the cardbase square, 105mm x 210mm and scored in half.

Finishing off with some simple decorative elements – I stamped one of the flourish stamps, in Pineapple Punch in the middle of the frame, layered a strip of Coastal Cabana cardstock over the top which I cut flags to both ends.

I heat embossed butterflies from the Butterfly Gala stamp set with Black powder, punched them out and layered them over the top. Finishing with some of those gorgeous glitter enamel dots either side of the main butterfly and a simple sentiment at the bottom.

Next up in the hop is the amazing Lou Kitzelman.

Once you have enjoyed all the amazing inspiration in this hop, pop over to our Facebook Challenge group and load up your creation using these colours. This challenge is open until Monday, February 25th. Look forward to seeing you over on the group.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,

Sketch Challenge – CYCI#153

You know I’m a big fan of sketch challenges and this week at Can You Case It? we have our next sketch layout to follow along with.

Here is what I made.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Detailed Dragonflies thinlits

I went dramatic and bold this week with black and gold colours, but it’s always simple and elegant at the same time.

I dry embossed the background cardbase with the Softly Falling embossing folder and used a black square framed slightly with the gold one over the top.

The cute little bee is from the Detailed Dragonflies thinlit dies. Those Dragonflies are just so gorgeous, that poor little bee gets left behind a little. So used I punch one out in gold foil and popped him on and added the “just a note….” sentiment, from the Better Together stamp set, embossed in gold to coordinate.

I added some gold sequins dotted along closely to the sketch to finish off.

Sketch challenges are a great way to start off playing with challenge groups like this. So why not play along, they are another way to get some crafting done, make that card on your “to do” list and have some fun along the way.

This challenge is open until Midday next Saturday, April 15th (AEST). I can’t wait to see what you create with this sketch, once you’ve created your project, head over to the Facebook Group and load it up in the comments of the Sketch image.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
