I have a quick little share today. It’s New Years Day on the Luna calendar and many within the communities I live and work in are celebrating. Last night, the air was filled with sound of parties happening all around us and the local Temple partied and celebrated with fireworks at Midnight.
Today, I made a quick little card for my neighbours. It is the Year of the Pig in the Chinese Zodiac, known as Sheng Xiao. So I really couldn’t resist pulling out my “This Little Piggy” stamp set could I…
I specifically chose the colours Red and Gold as they seem to be traditional colours of the Luna New Year. Red is traditionally symbolic colour of happiness and the red colour of the packet symbolises good luck. And Gold (or yellow) is considered the most beautiful. Great combination for this event.
I went for Real Red as it closely matched the shade often used. I used this for the base card and the flag layer and the gold I embossed and used some foil sheets. I wanted the card to be about celebration so I swapped out the flower this Piggy was holding for a balloon. Simple but cute.
Wishing all those celebrating the Luna New year today, a happy and prosperous one.
