Today, I’m all about quick, simple and easy, but fun, creative and lovely. Here is my card:

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Hello You thinlit dies

It’s great when we have time to play, but sometimes we have a few things on our “to do” lists which means project like these are great to have up your sleeve.

Quite simply, the card base is Calypso Coral. The flag from the Subtles pack of Designer Series Paper Stack, okay so I couldn’t resist inking up another Lace Doily – LOL, I think I’m on a roll with that now! Over the top is a gold foil doily and it’s all topped off with “hello” sentiment from the Hello You thinlit dies in Coral.

Not much stamping today… but it’s great to see what else you can create with your supplies isn’t it?

For some more yummy INKspiration, Julia Quinn is next in the hop and I’m sure her project wont disappoint.

Once you’ve finished the hop, I hope you feel inspired to join in on all the fun and head over to our Facebook Challenge group and share your project created with these colours.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,

Sing me a rainbow – CYCI #139

This week’s challenge at Can You Case It? had me a little stumped at first. It’s about a rainbow of colours. “What does that mean?” I found myself asking.

Can You Case It? #139

Then I worked it out… this week is a colour challenge and it’s about a grouping of colours. Think of it as a colour theme. You just get to choose what colours to make up that theme.

Here is my colour inspiration for the weeks challenge…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Detailed Floral Thinlit dies

Here I used three of Stampin’ Up!’s 2016-18 In colours to create a water colour background. I used Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum and Flirty Flamingo. Using Aqua Painters, I lifted the colours from the lid of my ink pad and splashed them semi-randomly over my cardstock. I knew what I wanted to achieve with this card so I created the black top first and used that as a template for my water colouring.

The background then became the feature when I overlayed the die cut top. Here I used the Detailed Floral thinlit dies on one piece of black cardstock. I place the two straight edges of the die facing each other, leaving a 15mm gap between them, which then created the raged top and bottom edges.

The gap created a lovely little space for my coordinating ribbon (Sweet sugarplum Ruche ribbon). I topped it off with a Hello from the Hello You thinlit dies and some tiny flowers and Rhinestones.

I can’t wait to see what you create with your chosen group of colours. All the details are on the Can You Case It? website. Entries close Midday Saturday (AEST).

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
Rose.

What I used to make this:

Hello you – CYCI #137

This week’s Can You Case It #137 challenge is a colour combination – Chartreuse, Gray and Flamingo.

Can You Case It CYCI#137

I decided to focus on two of the colours – Gray and Flamingo. I was playing with the Hello You dies just recently for Fathers Day, it reminded me of just how much fun they are. I always get swept up with all my new toys, some of my all time favourites end up gathering dust up the back of the cupboard. Does that happen to you?

Here is my card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Hello You thinlit

For this card, I wanted to try playing with the words so that only some of the Flamingo was poking out from behind them. I cut my Whisper White and Flamingo cardstock the same size. When I punched out my words, I paid particular attention to their positioning on the cardstock, as I knew I wanted to use the negative space too. Then I punched a matching set of words from Silver foil to fit back into the white cardstock.

I offset them slightly to allow the pink to peak through. I added a butterfly to highlight the pink and a bit of bling to dress it up. Simple, quick but elegant.

Can’t wait to see what you create with this colour combination. Entries Midday next Saturday (AEST). Visit the Can You Case it website for all the details.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
Rose.

Washi Tape wonder

I was so glad to see the wonderful designs and colour combinations of washi tapes in this new catalogue. This was partly because I was so attached to some of the ones in the last catalogue, I just wasn’t sure how I was going to say goodbye to those.

Lucky for me, I found some new favs pretty quickly. Here they are….

RosePacker15-19a

My two favs at the minute are Everyday Chic – they are the Black and white ones up the back there (138385) and in front are the 2014-16 InColour range (138382). I also have my eye on the Bohemian and Sweet Li’l Things collections… Hmmm stay tuned for those. To see all the collections – click here.

I just love how quick and simple they are to use. They add a splash of colour quickly and the designs are so adaptable. I made a bunch of Thank you cards recently so I used my new favourite washi tapes to make this a speedy process. I also used an old design to try out my new tapes.[Back track down memory lane.]

This design is just so versatile, here I used it for a couple of other occasions that followed my Thank you card fest day.
