CTC184 – Delightfully Detailed

It’s Caseing The Catty time and I’m so excited. Today, we are focussing on the Delightfully Detailed Suite – it’s one of my favourites. Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Elizabeth.

I’m just so in love with this suite, it’s has so many different elements to work with and all coordinate so beautifully. It’s hard to go past that Laser Cut Specialty Designer paper pack though, isn’t it?

It’s dresses up the simplest of cards in such an awesome and stunning way, it doesn’t take much to make them work beautifully. This means quick and simple but stunning cards – just my cup of tea at the minute.

I have a couple of quick cards, I made recently showcasing some of this paper. This first one uses some of the lovely designs that make up the 12×12” piece.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Delightfully Detailed Laser cut paper, Detailed with Love

Here I have layered it up with some Bermuda Bay cardstock directly beneath the laser paper and then adhered to a cardbase in Coastal Cabana. The sentiment is from the Detailed with Love Stamp set from this suite and I used an oval die from Stitched Shapes framelits to punch it out. I love how it looks a bit like a decorative mirror. This has given me an idea!

The next card uses some of the laser cut borders that come in the pack too. Here I have used two different ones. On the card base, I have used one of the thin half loop edges, which I have coloured directly with my Night of Navy ink pad. I cut two strips and adhered it with some multipurpose liquid glue so that the straight edge aligned.

Next, I used the wider banner style strip and adhere to some Night of Navy cardstock, cut a flag to one end. I love the contrast of White and Navy.

I used the banner element as a guide to stamp my flowers in Grapefruit Grove. I wanted a subtle stamp effect, so used the small outline flower stamp from Oh So Eclectic. I overlayed my sentiment and finished off the card with a few simple pearls from the Share What You Love pack.

Grouping Challenge – CYCI#166

It’s our last challenge at Can You Case It? #166 After a number of years on the challenge circuit providing loads of amazing challenges and inspiration from talented Design Team Members, Can You Case It? is coming to a close.

To finish off, Eva has come up with a very cool challenge, it a grouping challenge or cluster grouping. This is when you arrange several elements together in a cluster. Just like this sketch.

Here is my design team inspiration.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Naturally Eclectic Suite

I’ve been playing with the Naturally Eclectic suite again, but this time, I wanted to include those new-style emboss-only dies. There is a little trick to these, you have to add them last, even though they have to go on first. Let me explain…

I started with the sketch first, working out what I wanted where and choosing my colours. I decided on the spots design of the Designer Series Paper and choose coordinating Emerald Envy for my cardbase.

Lemon Lime Twist was another feature colour  in the spots DSP so I used some of that colour cardstock for the vertical strip. The horizontal strip I kept as Whisper White so I could on stamp my sentiment.

I used the diamond thinlit die as my feature element in Peekaboo Peach. I used Peekaboo Peach ink to stamp my sentiment to echo the feature.

All the while I was creating this, I kept placing my elements but didn’t adhere anything. I knew I wanted to use those emboss only dies and of course they have to be in place for any sticking happens. Once I had all the positions worked out for all other elements then I was able to do the sticking.

I embossed two leaves on the base card and a diamond on the bottom of the Lemon Lime twist stip. Adhering all my elements in place gave me the look I was after.

A little hello

Playing along with Case-ing the Catty again this week. This weeks feature is the Holiday section! I know… Holiday… Christmas… that time of year will soon be upon us!

Case-ing the Catty blogspot

This is a small section of the catalogue, as most of the Holiday themed Stamps and accessories will be coming in the Holiday catalogue this September.

Today, the inspiration for my project came from page 118.

I love that Wood Textures paper, it’s awesome. I’ve used it on my project to make a little Hello Note card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Oh So Eclectic

I’m back with the Oh, So Eclectic bundle again. I used the leaves in place of the Holly. You get two leaf designs in this stamp set, I like the water coloured look one. The paper bow, I replaced with a real one – loving that Stitched Ribbon and I swapped the Real Red ink for Pumpkin Pie.

A little lovely note created from that Christmas card.

Colour INKspiration CI12

It’s the Colour INKspiration Blog hop time…. welcome to you, whether you have joined me from Rachel or starting here, I’m sure you will enjoy all the amazing project using this awesome colour combination.

The colour selections are many this time so the rules are a little different for this challenge. You can choose any of the colours listed here but you need to use a minimum of four of them. Plus you can always add metallic’s. Here they are:

The colours I chose to work with this week are Night of Navy, Smokey Slate, Whisper White and Peekaboo Peach for that splash of colour. I also added a little Silver in there too. Here is my card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Oh So Eclectic

I have used the Oh So Eclectic bundle, which features in the Naturally Eclectic Suite on pages 132 and 133 of the Annual Catalogue. This set also features on the cover of this catalogue too and I love how the samples begin with some simple stamping and then is stepped up a bit more for each of the two other samples. Just gorgeous.

I love all the different elements in that suite and I’m particularly eager to use those Card Overlay, but I’ll be back with those another time. Today, it was all about the stamps and dies. And what I lovely surprise that die set has with those three emboss-only dies. Can’t wait to bring you some inspiration using those!

Today I have teamed up this set with the awesome Marbled background which I have stamped using Night of Navy ink on Whisper White, layering this over my Night of Navy card base.

I overlayed this with a layer of Whisper White cardstock which I punched using the pattern die in that set allowing the  gorgeous marbled stamp to peek through. Use the Marbled stamp this way, creates a more muted background texture, rather than being a feature. This was the look I wanted to achieve as I wanted those gorgeous flowers to be the feature of this card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Oh So Eclectic

Here I have punched out three flowers using the intricate die in the set from Peekaboo Peach cardstock. I overlayed these over three stamped fill image in the stamp set. These have a lovely watercoloured look about them, making the edges of the stamped image appear darker. I double stamped the one in the middle to create more depth too.

After working out their position, I stamped the same image in Smokey Slate behind them to create a shadow effect. I layered the cardstock flags in position. Then finished off the flowers by added some silver metallic thread behind them for more texture and to break up the white slightly. Finishing the flowers with those gorgeous Faceted Gems in Clear.

The hello sentiment (this is from the Eastern Beauty stamp set) was added last, being small I could tuck it under the raised flower. I used those cute little Mini Dimensionals for the sentiment and regular ones for the flower. I finished off with a simple coordinated envelope.

Next up on the hop is our Guest Designer, Esther Howard, be sure to hop over and check out her INKspiration. Keep hoping through the design teams inspiration. Then jump across to our Facebook Challenge Group and load up your entry. This challenge will be open until Monday, July 10th. I can’t wait to see what you create with your selection from this awesome set of colours.
