I’m back hopping with the Colour INKspiration Crew and this hop is all about the new Regals colour collection. Welcome if you are joining me here or if you have hopped over from Nikki Spencer.

We have mixed up a few of our colour palettes this half year, allowing ourselves to be inspired by Stampin’ Up! new colour range. The three colours from the Regals range I have chosen to focus on are Blackberry Bliss (so happy to see this one back!!) and Old Olive and Crushed Curry.

Here is what I came up with.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Thank You thinlit, Petal Palette

I thought I’d show so love to a couple of my favourite stuff, waiting patiently on the shelf for me to get over my Holiday catalogue excitement – like that is going to happen soon huh?!

Starting with a Blackberry Bliss cardstock base, I have layered some Crushed Curry cardstock around some of that yummy new Festive Farmhouse Designer paper. This is new in the Holiday catalogue but has a great couple of woodgrain pieces which have become my favourites. Me thinks, I could use a whole pack of these two designs on their own!

First I stamped the DSP with the large leaf image from the Petal Palette stamp set with some Old Olive ink and adhered these three layers together. I die cut the thank you from some Blackberry Bliss cardstock and adhere this over the top. Finishing with a stamped flower from the same stamp set and colouring it with Crushed Curry Marker, I layered this on some Blackberry cardstock – punching both using Layering Circle framelits. Before adhering I applied a little snail adhesive and arranged some of that lovely polka-dot tulle ribbon to the back, so it framed the punched circle on three sides, then allow some extra length to flow from one edge to act like an underline of my sentiment.

I was having so much fun creating this, plus I needed a few more Thank You cards, I created some in a couple of different colours (ok so not all of these are form Regals! Sshhh – don’t tell Bronwyn, she’s up next!) and used Tropic Chic stamp set.

Why not join in this challenge and show us what you create with this collection. Remember choose 3 colours from Regals and you can use the Basics collection (Black, White and Vanilla) to compliment.

Next up on the hop is the amazing Bronwyn Eastley.

CTC180 – Favourite Retiring Project

CTC-BlogBanner

Welcome to another Caseing The Catty week as we say one last goodbye to some favourite retiring projects in Stampin’ Up!’s catalogues.

CTC180

I’m really going to miss the Painted with Love suite in the Occasions catalogue. It really appeals to my arty creative side. I’m not normally a pink girl either but this just grabbed my attention straight away. One item in this suite I certainly haven’t used enough was the Gold Vinyl stickers. They are just so fabulous. The idea to use the stickers came from this pictured sample.

Occ18_p018

Now, I’m not sure how I ended up where I did from that picture, but here is my finished card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Painted With Love Gold Vinyl Stickers, Petal Palette, Shaker card

It was one of those times where I started off with one idea – a punched out heart with a gold vinyl sticker placed around it – and grew from there. Hmmm… Shaker card. Hmmm…. Metallic sequins inside. Hmmm… another heart over the top, and so on.

I started with Whisper White thick card base and then cut a layer of Whisper White cardstock for over the top. I wanted to keep the clean crispness offered by white but wanted to add some texture, so I overlayed the whitest of the Wood Textures DSP stack designs over the top.

I punched the heart shape out (the die came from the Lots to Love Box die – so going to miss this one!) and layered some Champagne Foil behind where the window was going to be, which I adhered to the card base. I attached some window sheet to the back of the DSP top layer and rubbed it with the embossing buddy to remove any static. Then set about adhering the foam strips to mark out where my shaker will be.

Then I set about decorating the front, punching a second heart from Sunshine Wishes thinlit die set from Champagne foil which I overlayed the shaker heart.  I added some gold tinsel trim, black mini sequin trim and added some more gold vinyl heart stickers.

The sentiments are from the Petal Palette stamp set, here I have stamped the Congratulations in Black Archival ink and fussy cut it out – not something I normally do, but I wanted a thin sentiment and lucky for us the Stampin’ Up! paper snips are awesome for this job.

Once the front was decorated, I peeled off the backing from the foam strips, sprinkled the sequins in place, held my breath and stuck my top layer in place to finish off.

Next up in the hop is Sandra Collett.

CTC168 – Petal Passion

CTC-BlogBanner

Oh… I just loved this suite from the minute I saw it in the Occasions catalogue. I mean it’s black and white, with lovely watercolour texture to the stamp imagery and DSP. The options for projects with this one is endless as you will see as you hop along with the Caseing The Catty Crew.

CTC168

Welcome if you have just joined me from Sandra or if you are starting here with me. There are so many ideas from these pages in the Occasions catalogue, you are bound to pick up a few.

This suite being black and white, has people deciding whether they like it or not. Me… I love that you can put any colour with it. Even some of the dark black pages of Designer Paper, can be teamed up with colour to life the heaviness. Here is my idea for you…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up, Petal Passion

Here I have created two cards using the same design, one is basic creation and the second is a little more stepped up. But both show using one of the black based sheets of the Designer paper sparingly. Which is always a great approach when using strong colours. I don’t mind bold and dramatic most of the time, but sometimes you need to allow other elements to shine and this is a great way to achieve it.

I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock down to 100mm x 142mm to work on, rather than working directly on to the card base this time. The strip of Designer paper is 25mm wide on both cards. The card bases are Whisper White Thick cardstock.

On the basic layout card, I stamped the leaves from the Petal Palette stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink twice in two different directions, then layered the DSP over the top – adhering it so it hugged the left edge. I added my sentiment in Basic Black Archival ink and topped it with my flower arrangement.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up, Petal Passion

For this flower arrangement, I stamped the images in Basic Black archival ink and simply coloured them using markers. I punched them using the coordinating die.

With the stepped up version of this card, I replaced the stamped leaves with die cut ones from the Petal & More thinlit die set. I cut these from the green glimmer paper from the Magic & Myths pack. I adhered these using some Fine Tip Glue and then layered my designer paper the same way to the left edge.

RosePacker18-17c

I added some of that gorgeous Coral shimmery ribbon, which is a Sale-a-Bration exclusive available at the moment. The flower arrangement over the top is again stamped with Archival ink, but this time I coloured with Stampin’ Blends. Colouring with alcohol markers just gives a different look and a much richer shading. These were adhered on with Dimensionals to give some height.

If you started the hop from our Challenge group, then technically I am last in circle of hopping.

But if you are mid hop, next up is Judy May.
