Playing catch up

The past few years, I find myself getting to this time of year and my list doesn’t seem to be getting any shorter. How about you?

My preparations for Christmas start later now that Miss Three has come along in December. I used to be ready for Christmas by the start of December. In addition to the general busy-ness that is usual for this time of year, I have a birthday to prep for too.

So whilst I haven’t been able to blog much lately, I have been busy in the background so let’s play catch with what’s been happening….

Lots of cards have been made. I usually send about 50 Christmas cards each year. I’m sure I forget people too each year (hopefully it’s not the same people every year!). Here are a couple…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Half Full, Stampin Blends

Is it wine o’clock yet? I’m so in love with the Half Full stamp set. It’s another one of those great sets with sentiments for the front and some for inside too. Here I have teamed it up with the new Stampin’ Blends and that lovely Woodgrain paper stack.

Here is the inside with the funniest sentiment in that set!

Gift card / Money holder… This time of year, I need plenty of these. So here, I have given my Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set and Pocket thinlit dies a Christmas make over.

Ice Skating anyone? Whilst here in Australia we usually swelter at Christmas-time, a lot of the world is cooler, snowing or icy. Ironically while making this card, I was sweating through 37 degrees Celsius (or 98 for my Fahrenheit friends)! We have family in the northern hemisphere that would enjoy this one.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Trim Your Stocking thinlit

Here I have had some punch-art fun with the Trim your Stocking die. Creating an ice-skate for a more wintery feel, with the addition of some punching, fussy cutting and paper piercing.

December classes have finished for the year. We always take this time to look forward to the next year, creating a calendar project. This year I stepped it up a little more making a notes station with the standard stamp cases using the Fresh Florals Designer Paper Series, Large Number framelits and the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp set.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Fabulous Flamingo

I found these cute little Flamingo flags at a stationery store and just HAD. TO. USE. THEM! So cute and of course they went well with the stamp set, so it was a no brainer.

Inside we decorated a little note book and included some calendar tabs too. My class attendees loved this project.

Do you dress up your home for Christmas? I love to, and along with all the Be Merry Ornaments hanging around, I have this gorgeous one.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Hearts Come Home, Bloomin' Heart

I love when I find little gems like this hiding on bottom shelves in cheap stores. Add some crafting supplies and next thing you know you have a beautiful centrepiece. This one lights up too, to create a lovely glow.

I kept the heart shape as the centre of the theme and teamed it up with a number of heart shaped dies. I framed them with some of that lovely Copper Metallic trim – stretching it out to create a subtle texture.

Memories of the year. Lastly, I have had this project floating around my craft room for easy four months. I just kept changing my mind on what I wanted to do with one of the most gorgeous photos I took of Little Miss (now) Three. I just love her smile in this photo. I remember the fun and joy she experienced as I pushed her on that swing that day.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Daisy Delight, Scrap page

I didn’t want to detract from that, so I went really simple. Allowing the photo to speak freely. This sheet of paper is from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper pack and I just love the blends between the two colours, remind me of the blue sky and green grass. Which matched in perfectly with this photo. Some simple trim with the ribbon border punch in some Calypso Coral and a Daisy in blue to match finished it off.

Lots of products where used in these projects. I’ll come back shortly with individual posts for each of these, with more instructions and supply lists.

I have more…. but that will need to wait for another time…

Until Next time… Stamp Creatively,

Colour INKspiration CI09

It’s Colour INKspiration blog hop time again. Welcome to you if you are hoping around or about to start. We have another great set of colours this fortnight and I’m sure you will enjoy our design teams inspiration using them.

On the menu this week is:
– Cherry Cobbler,
– Dapper Denim and
– Pool Party.

Here is my inspiration. It’s a sneak peak too!

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Pocketful of Sunshine bundle

What better colours could be used to launch this great new bundle coming in the next annual catalogue than these? It’s the Pocketful of Sunshine bundle – featuring the Pocketful of Sunshine Stamp set and coordinating Pocket Framelit dies.

Now tell me doesn’t the back pocket of your jeans often look like this? Mine does all the time. The idea for this card popped straight into my head the minute I saw this colour combination. I know this theme for cards are going to be great for the teenages I have around me.

Dapper Denim is perfect for denim jeans. The stamp set comes with decorative stitching pieces to create the jean look. Here I’ve stamped the curves towards the bottom of the pocket, similar to Levi jeans. It has a coordinating framelit, which has tabs that you can fold behind the pocket making work just like a true little pocket.

I used the straight stitched stamp to create the seam that appears across the hips. Of course I couldn’t forget the red tab – made famous by Levi!

My back pocket always has my phone in it and, during the warmer months, my sunnies are hanging out there too. Here I created an iPhone using punch art and a printable of the screen found online. The sunglasses is a stamp in the set and has a coordinating framelit too.

There are a few other images in this set and coordinating sentiments too which I’m sure I’ll be creating with soon.

Until then, I can’t wait to see what you create with these awesome colours.

Keep hoping through the design teams inspiration – next up we have Rachel Palmieri.

Then jump across to our Facebook Challenge Group and load up your entry. This challenge will be open until Monday, May 22.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
