The story of the catch up

So last night was my first blog post back (Yay!!) after my amazing incentive trip last month. My blogging break was a little longer than expected as I had a bad case of Vertigo upon arrival back in Australia. It kind of knock me out for a couple of days, then a slow road back to the land of no-spinning and steady feet! Thankfully, I’m almost all good now and my mojo is coming back too!

So I thought I’d do a quick wrap up of projects from the last little while to catch up.

First up – I thought I’d share a sneak peak. But this is a sneak peak of a different kind. You’ve seen these products before, so nothing new there. But this project will feature in another post I am currently writing about my Incentive trip experience. That post is coming soon, but I thought I’d share the swap I made for the trip, which went to 25 demonstrators around the world.

Next, upon returning home, my pre-order for this months exclusive bundle, Blended Seasons, was waiting for me. While it had to wait longer than expected before I could use it, this is one of the cards I have made.  This is an exclusive limited time bundle (only available during August 2018) as well as those gorgeous set of new shades in Watercolour pencils. View the products here. Here I have coloured the background of my Whisper White cardstock in Balmy Blue pencil, so that my flowers stayed white.

This card does feature a sneak peak – it’s the new Corrugated embossing folder coming in the Holiday Catalogue next month!!

Shortly after arriving home, I enjoyed one of the perks of being a demonstrator – Pre order of new catalogue products!! I just love that we get to see, order and play with new products first!

In the Holiday catalogue starting next month, is a new favourite. At least, I know these are going to be a favourite, as they are just an awesome product. It’s the new Foiled Edge cards and envelopes! Hellooo…. instant bling!! They come in packs of 20 in both gold and silver. Here, I have teamed up the gold ones with some of the gorgeous Broadway Bound suite of products.

With a trip like we have just enjoyed, I have a list as tall as me of all the Memories & More album making and Scrapping to do!! Here is one page I made recently of my gorgeous princess on her “Princess for a Day” experience that she enjoyed at Disneyland. I just love how you can make embellishments from Stampin’ Up!’s stamps and dies, to adorn pages, without adding to much bulk and fuss.

There is more to this Disney story too and a page 2, so stay tuned!

So this brings us to last week. I’m busy preparing for a papercraft expo for this weekend. One of the displays I have made showcases how you can use Stampin’ Up! papercraft products to make just about anything your mind imagines. I found this cute frame in a store, I liked the shape but frame on the inside was quite plain. Perfect!!

So I covered the photo matte and the sides with some new woodgrain design pattern paper coming in the Holiday catalogue – Festive Farmhouse. Oh my lordy, I’ll be buying more of this gorgeous pack. Because it is sized at 12×12, it was easy to cover the backing matte in one piece too.

I added a different pattern for the floor from our regular Woodgrain Textures 6×6 pack and some Whisper White for the ceiling. I finished off the frame with a few simple embellishments: the bell is from this months Blended Seasons bundle and is coloured with the new Real Red Stampin’ Blends. I also used Blends to colour some of the larger Rhinestones, and grouped them together so they look like berries in the Boxwood wreath, which I have unravelled and arranged like a garland.

The star at the top is a new paper clip embellishment coming in the Holiday catalogue too, along with that gorgeous die cut “Christmas”. You’ll be seeing a lot more of that set, I can tell you now.

Last but not least a simple box of treats. Here I have dressed up a clear mini treat box with some Designer paper and a few various trims. A simple idea like this and few minutes of your time, turns a pack of lollies into a little gift with some care and thought. When you want to say a simple “thank you”, this is a great way to express your appreciation. It says just as much about you as it does the person you are thanking.

So this brings us up to today, where I have a few more thank yous to create and many more Christmas ideas flowing into my imagination. So stay tuned for more on some of these projects here and all the new ones I’ll be bringing you soon.

CTC179 – Favourite Kit – Any Catalogue

CTC-BlogBanner

It’s a focus on Kits over at Caseing The Catty this week. Welcome if you are starting here with me or if you have hopped over from Elizabeth.

CTC179

Today I decided to go on a different path with my kit creation. I have used elements from the Lots of Happy card kit and create a scrap page. Take a look…

These photos are of my hubby and two kidlets…. What is special about this occasion is, it was Miss Madeline’s first time to the beach… first time on beach sand, first time in the salt water. She has been swimming before, in her regular lessons since 10 months old, but they are in a pool. Normally when swimming, it has been when we are camping along the mighty Murray River.

Here, I have sliced the Hexagon card base in half to create two shapes which I used to matt my photos. Then I used the coordinating pre-printed topper to create my sentiment.

The three hexagon shapes allowed me to create an interesting arrangement. The selfie photo of the hubby and I, happened to capture the kids playing in the background, which worked out well. So I framed them cutting the angles to match the hexagon shapes, and mounted them on Sahara Sand cardstock to match the hexagons. This was a nice lead in to the sentiment.

On the sentiment panel, I have lightly, colouring in the flowers with the Flirty Flamingo pencil, and lightly blending away the pencil strokes. Creating a banner in Pacific Point cardstock, I topped it with sentiment from the stamp set that came with the Card kit.

The 12×12” base paper I used is a new one, coming in the Tranquil Textures Designer Paper pack on June 1st. It’s a really lovely pack of textured patterns and uses the new Balmy Blue colour coming to the subtles range.

I framed the photo arrangement with some Powder Pink and Pacific Point cardstock and finished off the page with some swirls from the Swirly Scribbles thinlit dies set.

Next up in the hop is the ever amazing Julia Quinn.

After you’ve enjoyed the awesome hop with the team, I’m looking forward to seeing your CASE over in our challenge group. Be sure to load up your creation by 6pm next Sunday night, May 27th.

Sneak Peak – Urban District II

Here is another scrapbook page I created recently using the Urban District stamp sets and the Build It Framelit die set from the 2017 Occasions catalogue.

Rose Packer. Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Urban District, Scrapbooking

I had these lovely photos that I had to display. The one on left and middle were taken at the park on Fathers Day earlier this year. The one on the right, taken at the start of the year when Father and son completed a bike ride. We always try to get out and about with the kids and keep them active.

Using some Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper as the base, I built up the page with the heading using the Large Alphabet framelits. Then simply adorned the imagery with little stamped graphic elements from the Urban District Stamp set.

The “Number One” hexagon is a stamp but I created the “You’re the best” one with using one of the texture stamps in this set. I finished it off with layering the stamped sentiment by creating flag ends to the banner. The Built It Framelit set has this coordinating Hexagon framelit making punching these shapes out a breeze. I used Dimensionals to create some height for my elements.

I have topped off the hexagons with silver stars from the Metalic Shapes embellishments and a few sequins in Bermuda Bay to coordinate.

Until next time…. Stamp Creatively,
Rose

Urban District Sneak Peak

Some times a stamp set comes along and it just screams “scrapbook with me”! I’m not a huge scrapbooker – but I do like to create the odd page to celebrate moments I love.

The Urban District stamp set, coming in the 2017 Occasions catalogue is one of those sets. Here is a Scap page I created using this set. This one is all about my dad, of course.

rosepacker16-73

I just love those exta large letters, here I stamped and fussy cut them out. Stuck them to some Dapper Denim cardstock and fussy cut those too to create a fine border.

But my absolute favourite in that set is the sentiment I stamped beneath the ribbon detail.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up! Urban District

It just pulls at the heartstrings and is so apt for my family. My kids are lucky to have my dad in their lives, there is so much he can teach them and he has the patience to match! Even I have only scratched the surface with learning from him really – so that stamp just summed it up perfectly.

It’s his birthday in January, so I plan to make and frame one for him too.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
Rose.
