Happy belated Valentine’s Day

So I have a quick little share today. Yesterday was Valentine’s Day here in the land down under, but I couldn’t post this until today as I didn’t want to spoil the surprises. Yes – surprises – plural.

I organised a stamp session with my hubby and his mates, so that they could all make a card for their lovely wives. Valentine’s Day here in Australia is a little different from other parts of the world. It tends to be celebration more reserved for those with a significant other. Whereas other countries celebrate it with all their special loved ones. Interesting huh?

Anyway, here is the card they made.

It was a simple card, I didn’t want to overwhelm them for their first go. I helped with the die cutting using the heart from the Sunshine Wishes thinlit die set. Mind you a couple of them where quite fascinated with the dies and Big Shot – LOL!

We finished off with a little bow – which they were none too happy about tying – and a touch of stamping – which can I say, they all did perfectly!!

Now… I may have bribed them with some beers, and potentially forgotten to mention what they would be doing, when I invited them over, but I think you can see by most of their smiles, all turned out well.

What we used to make this:

You are my Sunshine – CYCI#131

My lovely sunshine…. I sing this song to my baby girl every night before bed. So when I saw the sentiment in the Sunshine Wishes die set and coordinating stamp set Sunshine Sayings in June when the Annual Catalogue launched…. I just had to have them!

This bundle made a perfect match this week for the colour challenge at Can You Case It? Here they are.

CYCI#131 Can you case it?

Here is my little pop of Sunshine…

I focussed on using the yellow as a little pop in key areas – the yellow layer I made thin so it only just peaks out, then one of the flowers and the word “sunshine” to finish off. I also stamped Smokey Slate flower behind the Gray and Yellow flowers to create a shadow.

I love this coordinated bundle so I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of it popping up in all kinds of projects.

Looking forward to seeing what you create with these colours this week.

Until next time… Stamp Creatively,
Rose.
