Rose garden

Finally had a chance to play with some new products from the recently launched Occasions catalogue.

I love so many of the new products, I found it hard to choose where to start. One of the things I like most about new products is the challenge of thinking about how to use them. Sometimes it can take one or two goes to get into the swing of it.

Over at Just Add Ink, it’s all about “something new”, so here is my something new.

It is the ever amazing Rose Garden thinlit dies. I love roses, my name is Rose, I have roses in my garden and I even have a rose tattoo on my back. So when I saw these coordinating stamps and die set in the catalogue it was love at first sight.

Today I have just focussed on the thinlit dies, they are amazing on their own before you even pull out the coordinating Rose Wonder stamp set. (Yes… lead in for more posts to come, Lol!)

It’s easy to keep things simple when you have such stunningly designed products. With a simple punch out from black card stock, layered over the beautiful Perfectly Artistic Sale-a-bration Paper [which you can earn for FREE right now (read more about that here)] you can create some dramatic and lovely projects.

Here I’ve used the same die and paper, but created a different look altogether. Punching out two roses (one from each paper) and some leaves, I’ve used the black full die cut image as a frame and inlaid the pieces of the Artistic paper inside. It was kind of therapeutic really, bit like doing a jigsaw puzzle. I added a sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set and some of striped twine to finish of the card.

  1. Simply stunning, Rose. This was my immediate favourite in the new catty too. I love the bold black outline you’ve chosen to use on both of your cards, and the new dsp is the perfect backdrop. So glad you shared with us and joined the Just Add Ink blog hop this week. x

  5. The rose was my first (& tough) choice to play with too, Rose. You’ve used it fabulously on both cards. Love the drama of the black outline on the pink background & a great layout too. The marbled effect looks amazing pieced for the second rose too. Love both cards. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week.
    Di 🙂
