For my first blog post from the 2018 Annual Catalogue, I am hopping with a bunch of talented crafters from around the South Pacific. We have our own demonstrator group known as ESAD. If you are a demonstrator more information about ESAD is at the bottom of this post.

Welcome if you are starting here with me or if you have joined me from Jenny Bowman.

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Butterfly from the Springtime Impressions thinlit dies set, which sits on some new Designer papers. Take a look…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Springtime Impressions thinlits, Delightfully Detailed laser-cut DSP

Before launching into my butterfly, I first prepped some of the background paper. I used a panel of the lovely Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut specialty paper. It is quite delicate so requires some tenderness when handling to trim up. Here I went for the diamond pattern – one side of the paper is Vanilla and the other is White. I used the white side and coloured it simply by up-ending my StazOn Black ink pad and patted all over. (It was kind of therapeutic!) I like that is it not completely saturated in black, the speckled appearance adds to the weathered look I was aiming for. I set this aside to dry while making my butterfly.

Firstly, I adhered some black cardstock to some adhesive sheet, then die cut my butterfly. The adhesive sheet turns the die cut cardstock into a sticker! So I simply peeled off the backing and stuck it onto some vellum! I trimmed around the butterfly, turned it over and coloured from the back, using Stampin’ Blends.

The rest of my card comes together quite easily after these two elements, my base card is Basic Black cardstock, which is layered with a piece of the Tranquil Textures Designer Paper pack, this is the new Soft Seafoam colour. So yummy isn’t it!!

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Springtime Impressions thinlits, Delightfully Detailed laser-cut DSP

I cut a frame from Call Me Clover cardstock, which is one of the new In Colours, and adhere this over the laser cut piece. With some Tear and Tape, making sure to trim off any over hang.

Before adhering in the centre of my DSP, I stamped the leaf from Petal Palette in Call Me Clover, and then adhered the laser element. I positioned my butterfly and topped her off with some gems – faceted gems and rhinestone jewels, in different sizes so that they decreased in size down the body.

I finished off the card with a simple sentiment, from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and used the Classic Label punch. Adhering the sentiment to some black cardstock to frame it and finished off with a single jewel.

Next up in the hop is the amazing Kelly Kent.
