Happy birthday … man

SAB2016--BANNER

Here is the second post in my little series of male orientated cards. This post forms part of our teams half way Sale-a-bration Blog Hop. Welcome. You may have joined me from Janine’s blog, or if you are a regularly follower of mine, I encourage you to follow along our teams hop and enjoy some Sale-a-bration creations.

I’m in the middle of posting a series of male orientated cards and I got a little surprise when creating this one. I was playing with the new Sale-a-bration FREE item that launched today – the Metallics Glitter Tape. It comes in a pack of three – Gold, Silver and White – and yours for free when you spend $90 or more on any Stampin’ Up! products.

I wanted to create some design interest around shapes and angles and I knew I wanted to use some of the glitter tape too. So here it is…

I had already settled on the Going Global stamp set (I know again! LOL), Lost Lagoon ink and striped cotton ribbon. My surprise came when I started fiddling with the tape – holding it over the black Going Places Designer Series Paper, the green in the glitter really stood out matching in perfectly with the Lost Lagoon colour.

The happy birthday sentiment is from another Sale-a-bration set – Perfect Pairings. What I like about this set is, it has two parts that work together. They are designed so that one is decorative and the other more plain to compliment. Here I have used only the decorative one. What I really like is that it’s slightly italicised and so it worked pretty well with my angles theme making them look like they sit upright.

I hope you enjoyed my little bit of inspiration and hope you are craving some more. Depending on which way you are travelling, I encourage you to hop over to the next blog.

  5. Oh what a fab card Rose!!! Male cards can be a bit of a challenge but you’ve nailed it. 😉 Love the effect of the glitter tape – can’t wait to try that too.
