It’s time for another blog hop with the amazing Colour INKSpiration crew. Welcome if you are starting here with me or if you have just joined me from Rachel Palmieri.

We have a great and challenging combination of colours this fortnight. Check them out…

CI19-111017

We have Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray, Smokey Slate and Garden Green.

I think I started my project three times, I just kept thinking of different things and changing my mind. But I settled on this one.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Oh So Eclectic, Bold Butterfly

I layered both grays together at the base… Basic Gray for the base and Smokey Slate as the next layer. I used some Shimmery White cardstock to water colour on. Here I used my aqua painter with some Daffodil Delight ink to create this wash background.

I used the leaves from the Oh So Eclectic Stamp set. Stamping them in Garden Green ink and punching them out with the coordinating framelit from the Eclectic layers die set. Here I used six sets of leaves, 4 of them at full strength and 2 of them were stamped off (generation stamping technique – where you stamp more than once before reinking your stamp.)

I punched a planter box out using the framelit from the Hearth and Home framelit set. I love the gingham pattern design in the Quilted Christmas designer paper stack so I went for the green one.

I arranged my leaves, using my planter box as a guide for position. The leaves on the edges I adhered flat with some Multi-purpose liquid glue. The ones in the middle, I only applied a little glue to the bottom of the leaves so that the tops I could pop up to add some dimension to my card.

It’s been a little while since I showed my butterfly dies some love, so today I punched out the smaller on from the Bold Butterfly set from Smokey Slate cardstock and adhere this to some vellum. Once dried, I fussy cut the butterfly out, turned it over and coloured in the back of it with my Daffodil Delight marker. I like how you can add depth of colour and tone by colouring over in layers.

I added some bling to the front, one of the small Faceted Gems in the middle and two small Rhinestones. I finished it off by painting some Wink of Stella glitter all over. Not that you can see it well here, but my butterfly is very sparkly.

I adhered the butterfly on with two dimensionals so that it sat nicely over the top of my leaves. I stamped a my sentiment and finished off a coordinating envelope.

With so much inspiration ink this hop be sure to head over to Monique Fielder.
