I’m so excited to be the first cab off the rank for this fortnights bloghop with the very talented Colour INKspiraction crew. Welcome to you all.

We have another fun colour combination for you to sink your stamps into. On the menu this time we have Cajun Craze, Island Indigo, Smokey Slate and Delightful Dijon.

For this project, I have created a tag.

I just love dressing up gifts just as much as creating a card for occasions we celebrate. So today is all about the package. I’ve kept it simple, dressing up a simple brown paper bag – but I find these the most practical. Plus they get recycled for more presents later and that’s a good thing.

I think, there is just as much work in creating a beautiful tag as there is in a card. Here I have started with Island Indigo as my tag base. Punching it at the top with Scallop tag topper and the bottom with the Triple Banner punch.

I cut a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock and embossed one edge with the border pattern from the Floral Affection Embossing folders. I painted the raised impression with Clear Wink of Stella to add some additional sparkle.

Underneath my flower is a stamped image from the upcoming Label Me Pretty stamp set which was punched with the coordinating Pretty Label punch.

On top is another newbie, it’s the daisy from Daisy Delight stamp set, here I have stamped two flowers in Delightful Dijon ink – one on Very Vanilla cardstock, the other is Delightful Dijon. Both flowers are punched out using the new Daisy punch. Adhering the two petals together in an offset manner gives them a full flower look. The stamen was stamped in Cajun Craze ink and punched using the ½” circle punch. Grabbing my bone folder I conditioned my petals to give them a little curl. I added some Gold Wink of Stella to the tips of the petals on the Delightful Dijon flower and Clear on the Vanilla one for additional sparkle. So hard to capture that beautiful shimmer in a photo but trust me the shimmer really adds something special to your projects.

Also in that Daisy Stamp set, is the cutest little daisy stamp – it’s a set of three daisies and here I have used them as a border along the base of my Cajun Craze layer, stamping them in Island Indigo and finished with those tiny little pearls. They are just so damn cute and will come in very handy for all kinds of different projects. Another handy little stamp is going to be that tiny “For You” from the Pocketful of Sunshine Stamp set. Here I stamped it in Cajun Crazy in the bottom corner.

I topped off my tag with some Delightful Dijon mini striped ribbon, Smokey Slate stitched ribbon and some Gold metallic thread.

After attaching the tag, I decided some custom coloured tissue paper would top it off nicely. I coloured half a sheet in Cajun Craze and the other half in Island Indigo. I think it looks pretty great poking out the top of bag. A couple of gold sequins finished it off. Now I have a complete package.
