Another year of creative colour challenges are upon us as I begin on the crew with Colour INKspiration again. So let’s take a look at the colour challenge for this next one – our 160th challenge (#CI160)…
Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly, Soft Seafoam, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.
These colours are all from Stampin’ Up!’s Subtle colour palette. I just love these colours… it’s funny right, when I first join Stampin’ Up! I was a Brights girl through and through… these days, I’m leaning toward subtles more and more! I think I’m getting old – LOL!
Anyway, here is the card I made using all these colours.
This time, I reached for a new bundle coming next month in the Online Exclusives additions. It’s called Happy Little Things which is a cute and fun bundle of words, you can adapt to many occasions… and you can use them to compliment a graphic stamp or die cut image or you can do what I did here and make them the feature.
This stamp set features several large words – one as an outline and one solid to colour with. There are also several smaller supporting phrases too – and the banner die set fits these. Here I used the “celebrate” outline stamp and stamped it once in each of the challenge colours.
Next, I used the solid colouring stamp to fill in the word – but instead of just stamping it in one colour over the matching outline… I decided to break up the word into syllables and stamp it out in several colours. Something a little fun to create. I finished off the top with one of the supporting sentiments and one of the banner dies. I tucked a couple of leafy elements under the banner, which were die cut from Soft Seafoam cardstock.
The rest of the card is quite simple, some scrap DSP strips to the sides, all adhered to a Basic White card base.
