Tag tied

We create such beautiful tags for our lovely gifts don’t we? Lovely coordinated products used together to create the most wonderful little items!

However I find the ribbon, which is looped and has two open-ended threads at the top of the tag, can create some confusion. I find myself quite often being asked “how do I tie or attach my tags onto my gifts”.

With the ribbon already tied at the top and having two open threads, they can simply be tied together around the ribbon that adorns the pressie or tied to the handles of the gift bag I have just decorated.

But I personally like the ribbon at the top of my tag to act more as decoration rather than be functional. So this is how I attach them….

I thread more ribbon/cording through the ribbon on the tag and then tie that onto my pressie. That way my decorative ribbon is still in place and the overall look of my design is maintained.

Here check this tag out….

Oh and … thank you Ferrero this Christmas for those Grande’s! Don’t they make excellent pressent toppers?!

Hope this helps with your tag tying this festive season!

Until next time… Stamp creatively!

Tag you very much

Dressing up your Christmas pressies is a must, isn’t it? I love coordinating my pressies with beautiful tags.

I don’t know what it is about tags, they should be easy to create as they are small. Don’t you agree? But I find I need more thinking and planning time to get them just right.

Here are a couple more tags I created recently.

The colour combo of Real Red and Mint Macaron is just so great for a contemporary Christmas theme. And isn’t Mint all the rage this season?! You can always spot a favourite product of mine, can’t you? I tend to use them to death… but seriously, who can go passed that red foil paper? It’s instant bling isn’t it?!

I’m very much in love with the Lot of Labels die collection at the minute too – they seem to be making an appearance on many of my projects.

I hope my ideas help dress up your pressies or inspire your own creations this festive season.

Until next time… Stamp creatively,
Rose.

Christmas Collateral

It’s the time of year … isn’t it? The time when you’re frantic with so many little jobs to finish off for the year and final preparations are underway for Christmas celebrations. I’m sure I can’t be the only one?!

I find I usually need a couple of different types of collateral for my Christmas giving. Mostly I need Christmas cards, but some times a little note card does the trick. Here is one I made recently. It uses a number of my new found favourites from the Holiday catalogue.

I just loved those snowflake elements and that printed vellum paper stack as soon as I saw them. I’ve used both together a couple of times this season and this one has some of the lovely gold print vellum. Both are from the Winter Wonderland suite. The sentiment is from the To You and Yours stamp set.

Another item on this note card is that awesome corrugated paper. I just love it, the fine folds in the corrugations give it a contemporary feel. The pack comes with two white and two kraft 12×12” sheets, so makes for great packaging too.

The other type of collateral I need this time of year is Tags of course. We all need to dress up our pressies don’t we? Here is one I have made using the coordinating Washi tape from the Winter Wonderland suite. I love how the patterns in the tape match the those on the vellum… it’s just so easy to make beautiful professional looking items with such gorgeous and well thought out products.

Here I’ve used the long ornament from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set and, using my 4.4cm circle punch, punched out a circle centering the flower design element. Layering with red glimmer paper (5cm circle punch) and topping it off with the coordinating flower element from the Delicate Ornaments die set in gold foil just gives it a lovely simple but stylish look. The sentiment is from the Oh What Fun stamp set.

I’ll be back with more tags shortly.
Until then… Stamp creatively

Maybe not Halloween…

Stampin’ Up! being an American company, naturally celebrates Halloween and the Holiday catalogue always has a number of products specifically for this occasion. Whilst we here in Australia don’t celebrate Halloween, I still look forward to seeing what’s on offer.

It’s the accessories and embellishments that I look forward too. We have a few “tween” aged kids in my family and friends groups, that are into Gothic style everything! So when I spied the Spider web doilies and black glimmer paper, I knew they would be perfect for some birthdays this time of year.

Here is one I created on the weekend…

RosePacker15-30a

I love how the spider web doilies fit perfectly into the shape of the largest flower in the Floral Frames Collection framelits set. I love this shape and when accessories coordinate like this, it’s just pure heaven. Using the base card in this way, varied from the original instructions (which you can find here), but it just worked to coordinate with the spider web and I hope you’ll agree it looks pretty cool!

I just love this fancy fold and have entered it into this weeks fancy fold card challenge over at Just Add Ink (JAI#284), one of my favourite challenge blog sites. When you have a minute, don’t forget to go and check them out.

I’ve used this fancy fold for a couple different themed cards recently. Here is a special Christmas card made using the instructions as described in the original link. This uses the wonderful Winter Wonderland printed vellum paper stack and the Delicate Ornaments framelit set on that oh so yummy Red Foil Paper!

UPDATE: This project entry received an honourable mention at Just Add Ink.

Product List

Delicate Ornaments anyone?

Yay, last week I got to have some playtime with my new goodies from the Holiday Catalogue that launched last week. The last month proved to be a difficult one for our family so I haven’t been able to play with my new goodies until now.

And what lovely goodies we have Christmas this year. There are so many new products I’m in love with, I’m sure I’ll have a new favourite every week. Here is my first one… favourite that is…

RosePacker15-25a

This is the new Delicate Ornament thinlit die set. It is featured on pages 14 and 15 of the Holiday Catalogue – download your copy here. It has eight pieces to it and all are so very useful to create the most beautiful projects.

Three ornaments are intricately designed work to on their own, giving a lovely elegant look. Especially when teamed up with that beautiful red foil now available in the Holiday catalogue.

Cutting and removing of all those little pieces is made easier when used with the Precision Base Plate, also in the Holiday catalogue. It’s a metal plate for the bottom of your sandwich, making it sturdier for cutting into giving your element a sharper cut.

Two of the dies work as frames for the two larger of the intricate ornaments. This allows you to die cut the same outer shape as the intricate ornament to create a colour background or you can use these same two frame dies and team them up with the Embellished Ornament stamp set to punch out your stamped images.

The remaining dies are additions to help decorate your ornaments, the bauble topper or a hook to hang your ornaments and a decorative flower to layer and accent with.

There is so much to love about this stamp set and thinlit combo, including the price. They are available in a bundle, saving you 15% off individual prices! Click here to check them out.

Until next time, stamp creatively…
