You Can Create It – April Ideas

Perennial Lavender is the feature of this months pack in the current Kit. Oh and this month is the last pack in the current kit. Subscriptions for the next Kit are now open. Read more here for details.

So let’s take a look at the contents of the pack we had to work with….

We have some designer paper, glimmer paper and cardstock. Here is how mine came together.

Using some of the lovely Perennial Designer paper, I layered this over a cardbase from Thick Basic White cardstock from the extra materials pack.

I die cut some elements: White layer from Postage dies and leaf from the Green glimmer paper (now retired). Then trimmed down some layer pieces of cardstock.

Stamping the sentiment in Highland Heather ink and the leaves in Lost Lagoon, finished off my background. So I set about adhering these together with some liquid glue, then attached the layers to the cardbase with some dimensionals.

More liquid glue was used to adhere the glimmer paper leaf die cut. I stamped and die cut some butterflies for decoration and finished with one simple purple adhesive dot embellishment.

Over in my VIP customer Facebook group, we have share more projects using this pack, it’s been quite fun to see the different projects made with the same elements.

You Can Create It – March ideas

Natures Sweetness is the feature of this months challenge pack in the current You Can Create It kit. Let’s take a look at what was in the pack for this month:

March Pack featuring a selection of products from the Nature’s Sweetness suite and Extra Materials to share across the four months of challenges.

Using these supplies, I made this card…

What I did here, was die cut the card front and utilise both designs of the designer paper…. I mean, really, it’s so hard to choose which side to use anyway. The Everyday Details Dies are just so incredible, they are perfect for creating these types of cards.

Using the coordinating dies from the Lovely & Sweet bundle, I die-cut the main plant image from the second sheet of designer paper and used this as my main element. I love the neutral tones in this pack, so only coloured the flowers for a touch of colour.

I die cut a couple of leaves from the coloured cardstock in the pack to accent and add a pop to draw your attention. I finished off the card with a simple sentiments stamped in Pecan Pie ink and a few of the gorgeous cork rounds.

You Can Create It – February ideas

The February pack in the first You Can Create Kit for the year, features the very cute Bee Mine suite. This month the team have created projects using these select products:

Here are my projects using this pack – I have created a card and decorated the square pillow box. They are simple and fun projects, only using what was available in the pack.

For the card, I layered the Sweet Sorbet cardstock onto a Basic White cardbase. Before adhering though, I cut a square from the centre to use on the box. I layered the Designer Series Paper over the top to cover the whole.

Next, I cut a strip and a square from the Petal Pink cardstock. With the strip, I layered the reverse side of the Bee pattern DSP – the honeycomb. As Jamie Oliver would say – making minimal products work really hard! LOL.

I die cut two postage stamp squares from Basic White cardstock to use for the sentiment labels.

The sentiment on the card uses two stamp sets: the words are from Hooray for Happiness and the decorative elements are from Heartfelt Hexagons. I finished off the card with a couple of Petal Pink gems left over from the January pack.

The Pillow box comes together very easy: Tips for success – make sure you fold in all scored lines as well as you can; before exposing the adhesive, make sure you like up the panel, with the scoreline on the opposite side, so the panel is sitting straight. This will make sure your box doesn’t turn out wonky.

You can decorate this box in lots of different way, you might even want to emboss the top panel before adhering. Today, I have just gone simple – cutting two strips of Designer Paper, I over lapped them and adhered them to the box to make like a faux belly band. Finishing with the label over the top. Just for interest, I stamped my label so that the box would sit like

You Can Create It – January Ideas

I am back creating with, and offering, the You Can Create It kits for 2024. We have a few new Global Team members this year, so look out for their projects to help inspire your crafting with these kits too. If you live in Australia, you’ll want to know more about this wonderful little challenge pack – so keep reading on.

These kits contain consumable products packed into monthly challenges. The challenge is to use some of all products contained in the monthly pack. The kit also contains extra materials which can be share across all the monthly packs. There are three kits a year, containing 4 monthly packs – these coincide with the Stampin’ Up! catalogue release to feature the latest products. For more information and how you can subscribe, visit the Online kits page.

But now…. Let’s get onto my idea using the January pack. This pack featured the new Lighter than Air suite of product. This suite is themed with Hot Air Balloons, it features Stamp and Die bundle, as well as Designer Paper and gems to coordinate. Here is what the January packs looked like:

Here is one of the cards I made…

It’s a simple fold… just slicing 20mm off the card front to create some interest. I love how this simple detail create a little wow factor to the card design. Using one of the DSP patterns in the pack, I layered with Fresh Freesia cardstock and adhere to the shortened card front.

I kept my scrap strips from trimming the card front down and the Freesia cardstock and used them to add details to the card. I adhered the Freesia strip to the inside of my card, so it peeks out and add interest to the front when looking at it closed. The white strip, I layered across my card – this served two purposes; providing a place to stamp my sentiment; and also holding the extra elements.

One of the dies coordinate with the printed balloons in the Designer Paper pack. So I used these for decorative elements on the front.

I did make a second card, using the remaining supplies in the pack. I will be sharing this with my subscribers in my ViP group.

You Can Create It – December pack ideas

Welcome to the last pack of the year for You Can Create It. It’s been a fun year of challenges using the select group of products. This post is ideas using the December pack of products, which featured the Tartan Foil Specialty paper.

There was so much product in that pack, it was hard to decide what to do as I had so many ideas! Let’s take a look at what was included in the pack…. On the left we have Specialty paper and coordinating cardstock for the month. Plus, on the right, is the extra materials supply pack with can be used across all four monthly packs in the kit.

Here are the two ideas I settled on in the end. I went with a landscape and a portrait card.

This first idea, a landscape card, is nice and simple… simple layering of cardstock and the tartan foil and topped off with a cluster arrangement of White flower and leaves.

Rose Packer, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It kits, Tartan Foil Specialty paper

If I wanted to step this up a little, here are two simple ideas: 1- add some jewels or gems for extra bling, or 2- add another colour – say Wild Wheat as the stamen to the flower and match in some Wheat thread around the layers, stamp the sentiment in the same colour and perhaps some gems.

Rose Packer, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It kits, Tartan Foil Specialty paper

This second idea is another card in portrait. Here I have used the patchwork pieces dies to create some interest.

Rose Packer, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It kits, Tartan Foil Specialty paper

I flipped over and rotated some of the pieces to use both sides of the amazing speciality paper. I topped it with a simple sentiment and added some bright colour, contrasting ink.

I will be back for another year with You Can Create It and offering these kits during 2024. If you wish to know more about them, how they work and how you can craft with them, read more here. My subscribers will be invited to my VIP Facebook group where I will feature more ideas and lives/videos about these products throughout the year. Subscriptions for the first kit are now open and will ship at the end of the month.

You Can Create It – October ideas

I’m back after a little hiatus… just incase you didn’t know, one of my kids broke both bones in their lower leg and required 3 surgeries and a skin graft to get him on the road to recovery. Many of the doctors and nurses who have helped us along the way, have been extremely surprised to learn it was a simple lunchtime soccer game at school that cause this much injury.

Needless to say I was extremely happy to find a small amount of time this week, to contribute some ideas for the October pack in Kit 3 of You Can Create It Kits.

The October pack focused on the Joy of Christmas Designer paper and colours. Plus of course we have the extra materials pack which we share across all packs in the kit. Here take a look:

With so much to play with, I created two cards – simple but fun to create.

Rose Packer, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create it, Joy of Christmas

This first one features a traditional patterned designer paper, which I coupled with the Olive cardstock. I die fir leaves from the Olive cardstock before adhering the designer paper over the top. It’s a great way to use up cardstock, as you wont see the shapes beneath. The Pinecones are die cut from Pecan Pie cardstock and I layered another strip of Pecan Pie cardstock to anchor my elements.

Rose Packer, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create it, Joy of Christmas

The second card, I used the Green checked designer paper and couple that with the Real Red cardstock. I cut a panel from the red cardstock and adhered some Adhesive Foam Sheets to the back, before layering with the designer paper on to the cardbase. I die cut the Noel from the red cardstock and painted them with Wink of Stella – you can just see it here, although it’s hard to capture the sparkle.

Rose Packer, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create it, Joy of Christmas

The large stamped image is from the Joy of Noel bundle, which I die cut with the coordinating die. I coloured these with Stampin’ Blends and flooded my berries with Wink of Stella – oops! I really was just happy to get some crafting time in. Keeping it simple and fun is my cuppa tea right now.

You Can Create It – May pack ideas

Ideas using You Can Create It Kits for the May pack are out today. I had so many ideas of what I wanted to do and make with the kit, I settled on simple and quick… But first let’s take a quick look at what supplies we had to create with.

The main focus was the Fresh as a Daisy paper pack complimented by new In Colour range of cardstock and Jute twine. Plus of course we have the Extra Materials pack to top up with.

Simple and quick… is what I’m about this year, life is just crazy and I’m sure you can relate. But that doesn’t mean we can’t add touches of clever or fun or useful to creating. Here I create two card – same same but different.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It, Fresh as a Daisy, Brewed for you

Both using Basic White Thick cardstock for bases and layering with the cardstock and Designer paper from the May pack. But I wanted to make my cardstock work hard and go further… so I punched a circle from the cardstock before adhering my layers.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It, Fresh as a Daisy, Brewed for you

This is a great way to extend your supplies, particularly with specialty’s and foils.

To make the focal element on the Daisy card, I opted for a quick technique. First heat embossing the flower with White Embossing powder, I then used a Blender pen and White Craft Ink to colour with. Finishing with some of those gorgeous Iridescent pearls to top off a lovely lady card.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It, Fresh as a Daisy, Brewed for you

So for the second card, I went for a guy theme, using the Brewed For You stamp set. Such a great one for men-folk. Again punch a circle from the Pebbled Path cardstock before layering. I also used the backside of the Designer Paper for this card, for a textured look and a knot in place of the bow. Oh and … I left off the pearls, while some men do like them, I find most don’t!

You Can Create It – February ideas

Welcome to another post of ideas featuring the You Can Create It kits. This month we are using products the feature in By The Bay Suite.

For those of you reading wondering what this is all about, You Can Create It Kits are all about creating with a set selection of consumable Stampin’ Up! products. Within each kit are 4 monthly packs to create with plus some extras supplies to top up these monthly packs. For all the details, including how you can subscribe – visit Online Classes & Kits tab.

By The Bay suite is packed full of wonderful sea themed products to craft with. Here are a sample of supplies we to create with:

I have create two projects with my kit to inspire you this month. First up, I went for something different this time to… an 8×8 scrap page.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It kits, By The Bay suite, Oceanfront stamp set

For Christmas my son was gifted a surfing lesson, so we spent a day at the beach – yeah I know… tough life! We spent many days at the beach over the summer, but this one was most fun.

Here I cut an 8”x8” base from Basic White Cardstock from the extra materials pack and layered the designer paper over the top square in the middle. I went with the abstract design of a beach landscape from the pack, to match the theme of my photos.

I layered my photos over the top and die cut my letters from the Basic White cardstock, using the new Alphabet A La Mode die set. Because this die set is thin in design, Adhesive Sheets applied to the back of the cardstock before die cutting, makes adhering a breeze.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It kits, By The Bay suite, Oceanfront stamp set

I went with a little decoration in the form of reeds and stones from the Oceanfront stamp set, in Sahara Sand ink. There were many of reeds and sea grasses lining the beach were at, so they fit.

With the remaining supplies, I created this card…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It kits, By The Bay suite, Friends are like Seashells stamp set, Seashells die set

Using more Basic White thick for the cardbase, I layered Night of Navy cardstock and the second pattern of designer paper from the pack at angles. I teamed this up with the Seaside Seashells dies set and matching Seashells 3D embossing folder, which I think matched in well with the shells on the Designer paper. I added some colour to my embossed seashells with a blending brush. I just love the new smaller size brush we have in the Mini catalogue, make it much easier to apply colour to smaller areas more precisely.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, You Can Create It kits, By The Bay suite, Friends are like Seashells stamp set, Seashells die set

Finishing with a sentiment from the matching Friends are like Seashells stamp set, I fussy cut around it and then scattered the remaining Flat Pearls around my card for extra sparkle.

You Can Create It – January ideas

January marks the first month in the current Kit for You Can Create It. This year, the packs have changed to coincide with our new catalogue program. For those of you reading wondering what this is all about, You Can Create It Kits are all about creating with a set selection of consumable Stampin’ Up! products. Within each kit are 4 monthly packs to create with plus some extras supplies to top up your monthly packs. These kits are available in Australia, through me – more information about subscribing is located here.

The January pack is focussed on products from the Regency Park suite of January’s Mini catalogue and contains 2 sheets of Designer paper, some coordinating cardstock in Balmy Blue and some Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon.

Here I have put together this card…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Petal Park bundle, Framed Florets dies, #machwasdraus, You can create it,

Using some cardstock from the Extra Materials pack, I created a card base from Basic White Thick cardstock. Layering one of the designs of the Designer paper in the pack, on top, I set about creating my decorative element for the top.

Die cutting one of the ovals from the Framed Florets die set, I used the same die for both the second piece of Designer paper and the Balmy Blue cardstock. Using alternative pieces from the die – you get both the frame and the oval, I layered these together. The white leaf also came from the same die set.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Petal Park bundle, Framed Florets dies, #machwasdraus, You can create it,

The flowers on top are from the Petal Park bundle, which has a bunch of floral image that match the designer paper beautifully. It also features a punch to cut the three flowers and some of the leaf imagery. Here I stamped them in Calypso Coral ink and coloured them using Pale Papaya Blends.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I usually lay out my elements before adhering, this is so that I can make any adjustments. Once I was happy with the arrangements, I decided the ribbon would look great beneath them.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Petal Park bundle, Framed Florets dies, #machwasdraus, You can create it,

Tear and Tape is a great adhesive to use for this purpose. I simply tore off several strips of tape and laid them down roughly where I knew the ribbon would go and set about looping it over twice. Then moved onto adhering my top elements in place, using a combination of tombow and tear and tape adhesives. I did use a couple of dimensionals for one of the punched flowers.

Topping off my card with a sentiment in Night of Navy ink, from the Charming Sentiments bundle.

I was a little naughty and added some Rhinestones from my own supply to the card to finish off. I simply couldn’t resist the temptation this time, even though I knew they were not included in the challenge.

You Can Create It – December ideas

Today’s ideas are using the last pack in the quarter 4 for 2022. What a year of challenges it’s been with these packs of amazing products.

The last of the Christmas supplies included the Snowflake Specialty Vellum and some of that gorgeous Irridescent trim. I made Tags using the supplies in this pack. Lots of tags…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Snowflake Vellum, Tailor Made Tags

Using the Tailor Made Tag dies set, I was able to die cut 3 tag bases from one piece of the Vellum. As the pack contained two sheets, this made 6 tags…

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Snowflake Vellum, Tailor Made Tags

Die cutting a second tag from Basic White cardstock, I layered this behind the vellum tag so that it would add strength the tag.

I team these up with the Christmas Banner Dies, using the large flowy banner for the sentiment on top and a range of the leaf dies for decoration beneath. These are all die cut from Basic White cardstock that came in the extra materials pack.

Rose Packer, Creative Roses, Stampin' Up!, Snowflake Vellum, Tailor Made Tags

For some of the leaves, I used the new Mini Blending Brushes, coming in the January Mini catalogue.
